Sprint

Join us on Tuesday, July 22nd @TaotiCreative in Dupont Circle for the next Drupal 8 Core Sprint. Core sprints are a way to contribute to the Drupal project through patches, testing or documentation. Experienced developers will be on hand to help you get started and match you with issues that are close to your skill level.

Important Note for Sprint Participants:

We welcome all skill levels! To get the most out of the event (and to ensure everyone else does too), please come prepared! That means you should bring a laptop that is ALREADY SET UP with a working installation of Drupal 8. In addition, if you are reviewing and/or contributing code, it will be good to have Git installed and a user account on Drupal.org (see links below). A basic familiarity with using the Command Line (Terminal in Mac OS X) is recommended, as well (links below). If you need help, there are some resource links below, or feel free to contact us in advance. But we won't have time at the event to help individuals get their computer set up.

We suggest not using MAMP for Drupal 8 development. Here are some alternatives:

If you prefer, you can also install the Acquia Dev Desktop using this step-by-step guide: http://drupalladder.org/lesson/8daa1222-481d-fc54-a9bf-9d9ccc1ae702

Experienced devs, contributors and project maintainers:

We could use help preparing a list of issues to work on at the event. Please contact Aaron if interested.

More about the Event

Our host Taoti Creative will provide pizza and beer (and softdrinks). You can eat, drink and be merry from 6:30 to 7, but at 7 (sharp!), we'd like to get down to business. These events usually last about 1.5-2 hours, but you are of course free to come and go as you please.

To get the most out of this sprint we encourage everyone to visit the Drupal 8 issue queue in advance and look for issues that you would be interested in working on. Please have your development environment set up and ready to go so we can hit the ground running.

Recruiters: this is a working event and not an appropriate place to just come and socialize or recruit. Please stick to our monthly events at Stetson's.

Need more info? Call Taoti at 202.546.8946.

Please note, Taoti's offices are secured after hours and require an escort to gain access. We'll have Taoti personnel making round trips to the lobby from 6:30 to 7ish. However, if you arrive after 7pm, you can call our office and someone will come get you: 202.546.8946.

And please don't forget to RSVP so that we can put your name on the building security list (and so that we know how much pizza to order.)

Hope to see you there!
