We held our Broward Drupal monthly meetup on Wednesday, July 9th from 7:00pm to 9:00pm.
In Person (Greater Fort Lauderdale, Broward County Florida):
Brian Wagner, Jay Epstein @jeppy64, Phil Smith @SiliconValet, Dan Denysenko and me @hectoriribarne
This month Phil Smith @SiliconValet (http://www.siliconvalet.net/) presented "My Development Environments . . . and other neat practices". Phil covered the following topics:
- Local, Dev, Test, Live
- Options for Local environments (LAMP, MAMP, WAMP)
- Hosting options (Pantheon, Acquia, Dedicated, Shared)
- Migration Strategy
The presentation slides can be found here: http://browarddrupal.org/PastMeetings/july-2014
After Phil's presentation, Jay talked about some Drupal modules he uses for migrations: Backup & Migrate, Bundle copy, Views data export, Node export and Drupal-to-Drupal data migration.
We had five participants in the meeting room. I arrived late after watching the World Cup semi-final between Argentina and Holland (including the penalty shootout), so people trying to join remotely got silence for the first half hour.
