Drupalcamp or Regional Summit

Drupalcamp Atlanta (DCATL), is one of the southeast’s largest annual Drupal conferences attracting over 300 web developers, designers, executives and educators who engaged with teaching and learning Drupal. This conference is comprised of multiple concurrent sessions with tracks ranging from Beginner, Design/Theming and Usability, Development and Performance, Site Building, Business Leadership, and Education. In addition there are impromptu birds of feather (BOF) sessions, code sprints all concluding with a networking reception.

History

In 2009, the inaugural Drupalcamp Atlanta was held at Kennesaw State University. The grassroots event was spearheaded by Dave Terry of Atlanta-based Mediacurrent, and a group of devoted volunteers, who wanted to unite, grow, educate, and train our regional Drupal community. Over the years, Drupalcamp Atlanta has consistently grown and developed an amazing reputation for attracting high-profile speakers, business leaders, sponsors and Drupal enthusiasts from all skill levels. In 2013, attendance swelled to over 450 and included a job fair, product demos, training programs, code sprints, BoFs (impromptu meetings), diverse session tracks, and an exciting after-party.

Back to School with Drupal

In an effort to re-establish the grassroots culture the Atlanta Drupal User’s Group (ADUG) embraced the challenge of producing the conference and decided on hosting it back at Kennesaw State University where it all started. To further promote the “teaching” and “learning” of Drupal, the ADUG committee themed the weekend “Back to School with Drupal.” On Friday, October 3 there will be programming specifically designed for Drupalers who are passionate about personal and professional education such as:

Maybe you know nothing about Drupal, but you've heard that it's really really hard. Maybe you've played around with it and been blindsided by some of the quirkiness of the user interface and complexity. Maybe you've gotten kind of far, but you feel like you missed out on the foundations of Drupal and wish you had a better grasp of how Drupal works.
No matter what situation you find yourself in, join me as we spend a whole day building a simple, but powerful, blog and article site together as a class.
