CiviCRM is a constituent relationship manager (CRM) packed with tools to help nonprofits and community groups engage their bases. CiviCRM is used all over the world in dozens of languages to solicit donations, manage memberships, manage event registrations, recruit volunteers, send email newsletters, mobilize get-out-the-voters, produce walklists, and much more.

In addition to an introduction to the software, participants will be led through a primer on conducting an internal CRM needs assessment. What information do I need to store about my constituents? What different types of interactions does my organization have with constituents, and how can I leverage each one to move constituents further up the ladder of engagement? Planning is an important part of any CRM deployment -- this session will help attendees ask the right questions when considering a new CRM.

This workshop will be led by Frank J. Gómez of Ginkgo Street Labs, a CiviCRM Partner based in Washington, D.C. Ginkgo Street Labs is an active contributor to the CiviCRM codebase and maintainer of CiviVolunteer, the volunteer management suite for CiviCRM. After working in nonprofit and community organizing for a decade, Frank started Ginkgo Street Labs to empower agents for good with technology that increases their productivity while decreasing their reliance on vendors.
