Your role:
You will lead digital design projects – with a focus on Drupal's theme layer - for our web properties as a part of Ashoka’s Integrated Technology Initiative (ITI) team. The position is based in Ashoka’s Bangalore office, but you will report remotely to the Web Platform Manager in Ashoka’s global office in Virginia, USA.
Your core responsibilities:
Conceptualize and strategize with ITI team members on UX/UI design concepts
Convert graphic visual or interaction designs into standards-compliant Drupal CSS and template files, HTML and Javascript
Craft compelling user-experiences through tested/proven user-interfaces design
Create new (and tweak existing) designs, web themes, iconography, infographics, etc.
Coordinate with distributed teams in the US and India.
Your Core Skills:
3+ years of UI/UX design experience for software, web apps and/or mobile devices
Strong knowledge of and experience with Drupal's theme layer (responsive design experience a strong plus)
Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Fireworks and associated design tool skills
Proven CSS, HTML, JavaScript/JQuery experience
Experience with user-interface design patterns and standard UCD methodologies
Ability to create wireframes, as well as visual design components
Exceptional design skills, production value and attention to detail
Bachelors/Masters degree (or comparable work experience) in interaction design, new media design or related design field
