Content syndication is a very common feature request among content-rich applications. There are many different approaches one can take when striving for this goal of "all content, everywhere". If you take the route of replicating data on every server, you quickly run into integrity conflicts. For example, when this content is edited in two locations, which change(s) get shared with the rest of the clients?

As part of their latest endeavour called OpenEDU, ImageX has come up with an elegant solution to this question asked many times. Their Syndication module allows clients to easily control what is allowed to be shared across its network and offers an REST API interface allowing 3rd part integration, even from non-Drupal sites/clients.

We were able to book one of ImageX's chief engineers, Tiago Andrade to come speak with us about the iterative process and result of his foray in this territory.

This month's meetup is presented by:

Tiago Andrade

Drupal Developer Tiago Andrade brings over 14 years of web development experience to the ImageX Media team.

Originally from Brazil, Tiago started his career studying civil engineering and business administration. He graduated with a Bachelors Degree in Business Administration from the University of São Camilo but thereafter found himself in the exciting and emerging world of web development.

Specializing in LAMP and Drupal Development, Tiago has served as a Lead Developer for several years leading teams of upwards of 100 people. Earning his certification as a Scrum Master in 2009, Tiago finds that applying project management methodology to his every day developer work makes him a stronger developer each day.

Before joining ImageX Tiago worked with many well established firms such as Nokia Siemens, Johnson & Johnson, as well as several government institutions in Brazil such as the Brazilian Army and Navy.
