User group meeting

Our Drupal user group meets monthly to share knowledge and exchange ideas. We regularly have live speakers on specific topics such as Drupal development, planning, theming, and workflows.

Following last month's meet we have moved to a standard event format to make it easier to manage and also to make it clear what's going on so the meet will be as follows:

6:30 - 6:45 > Arrivals

6:45 - 7:00 > Announcements

7:00 - 7:30 > Speaker/Presentation/Tutorial

7:30 - 7:45 > Q&A

7:45 - 8:30 > Clinic - put your questions to the group for explanation the group for help and feedback

Speaker
Crispin Read will be speaking about Object Oriented UX - a talk he gave at Drupal Camp London back in March.

Crispin says:

This session is about the connections between what we do as UX practitioners and what we do as developers, particularly in the early stages of a project. I have a practical exercise to share with you that works really well with Drupal, speeding up early prototyping and providing a solid foundation for better communication between all involved.

Crispin is a consultant in strategy and UX specialising in open source solutions, he has been using Drupal for over 10 years and also helps to run the Drupal Apprenticeship Scheme which is coming to Leeds in the Summer.

Don't forget we have a new format and you can bring Drupal problems and issues for discussion at 'The Clinic' which will directly follow Crispin's presentation. Beers and soft drinks are provided thanks to our kind sponsors this month The Permaculture Association a national charity based locally who run a Drupal site in house.
