Editors and proofreaders needed for User Guide

We encourage users to post events happening in the community to the community events group on https://www.drupal.org.

If you've been following discussions here for a while, you're hopefully aware that for the past year, we've been working on creating a User Guide for Drupal 8, and it is coming along very well. I'd like to thank recent volunteers Anna van Raaphorst, Antje Lorch, Boris Doesborg, Charles Leverington, Grant Dunham, Jojy Alphonso, Michael Lenahan, Zach Carter, and attendees of a Spokane workshop for their help in testing the guide, updating content for accuracy, and copy editing!

The next phase of User Guide development is copy editing and proofreading. If you have a strong command of written English, we could definitely use your help! You do not need to be a native speaker of English, but you do need to be able to find grammar, punctuation, and spelling errors, and in some cases, to take awkward or overly wordy writing and make it clearer and more concise. Some of the topics need more work than others; for some of them, you may find no edits are needed.

To work on copy editing and proofreading the User Guide, check out our Quick Start guide at:
https://userguide_new-drupal.dev.devdrupal.org/guidelines/instructions.h...
The user name and password is drupal/drupal to access these pages. You'll be looking for issues with titles like "Copy edit understanding-gpl.txt", and you will not need to learn how to use Git or make a patch file to contribute to the guide (although you can if you want to).

See you in the issues!

Hi JHodgdon,

I tried following the link provided and used the user/password info and get the 404 Error shown below:

Not Found

The requested URL /guidelines/instructions.html was not found on this server.

Would be happy to help, but will need access.

Thanks.

Very old post

This post is from almost a year ago, and is outdated, sorry!

Thanks for your interest, but we are not in the editing phase any more... The User Guide is finished, and is up on drupal.org now, and being translated into 5 languages.

See the project page for details and updated links:

Yeah I realized that today...

Thanks for the updated info. I realized that it was an old post refreshed by the comment before mine. Doh! Thanks again and sorry for basically spamming you. 8)
