Event type:
Sprint

We're meeting at the same location both Saturday and Sunday this year!

Drupal 8 is a year old now, so that means it's done right? No, we need your help! Come learn how to contribute to Drupal and be a part of a great Austin and global Drupal community.

Are you new to Drupal? Maybe you know Drupal 7, but don't know Drupal 8. Don't let that stop you! We'd love to have you if you're new and/or this is your first time contributing. Any contribution is a good contribution!

Everyone is welcome!

If you have built a site in Drupal, you can contribute. Bring your laptop. The focus of the sprint is Drupal 8 core and contrib issues, but please come and work on what you want.

For new folks: there will be mentors available if you need help or this is your first time contributing. We will split into groups and work on Drupal core and/or contrib issues. You can get a head start also by making an account on Drupal.org, getting some contribution tools (we recommend Acquia Dev Desktop), and developers can install git before coming and git clone Drupal 8 core.

Please help sponsor: our goal is to keep the sprinters fed and watered with healthy snacks, which we're budgeting at $400. Give what you can or coordinate with us to provide the snacks directly.

See the full list of global sprints at https://groups.drupal.org/node/515662.

We’re excited to see everyone this weekend for Drupal Sprint Weekend 2017! Here’s some additional information to help prepare for the event. First, if you haven't yet RSVP'd, please do that here: https://www.meetup.com/Austin-Drupal-Users-Group/events/236337391/

Don’t forget to bring your laptop (headphones also recommended). If you want to setup a development environment ahead of time, we recommend Acquia Dev Desktop. There are also more detailed instructions at https://www.drupal.org/dev-env. If you need help getting set up, there will be mentors available.

We’ll have food! In the morning there will be breakfast tacos, coffee, etc. For lunch, we’ll have sandwiches (or similar), chips, a variety of soda and water. If you have any allergies, please let us know ASAP for catering. Feel free to bring your own food and/or drink if you’d like.

The event will be held Saturday and Sunday in the Amazee Labs office at 3108 N Lamar Blvd, Suite 100. Entrances are on either side of the building, just aim for the tinted doors. We’ll have signs to guide you. If you get lost or locked out, please call Brandon (512) 751-3548.

Amazee Labs is a dog-friendly office. Well-behaved furry friends are welcome, assuming there are no dog allergies among attendees.

Thanks to Charles Leverington, John Taylor, Four Kitchens, and Amazee Labs for sponsoring this event.

Happy Sprinting!
