phpbb

We encourage users to post events happening in the community to the community events group on https://www.drupal.org.
This group should probably have more organizers. See documentation on this recommendation.

This is an attempt to organize a group around the phpbb module. The module provides single sign-on and shared user profiles for Drupal and phpBB. It is not a complete integration or a close substitute for the built-in forums in Drupal.

You can use this group to get help with configuration issues or to compare notes on possible bugs. Patches are always welcome :)

Drupal 5 upgrading to 6 with phpBB 2

We have a Drupal 5 site with phpBB 2.0.21. We are using the phpbb module to bridge the user accounts and login. We are preparing to roll out a Drupal 6 upgrade next week. There doesn't seem to be any phpbb module version for Drupal 6. We need to have a plan to deal with this and wanted to see if anyone has reccomendations on how to solve this.

We can upgrade phpBB to the latest version 3, but is there any (even devel level) support for a Drupal 6 -> phpBB3 module?

Any help/suggestions would be appreciated.

Eratic Login Behavior

Sorry for the double post earlier (can't seem to get rid of the duplicate?).

I'm still having problems that appear to involve user logins, sessions, cookies...not sure exactly what. The errant behavior is much like what was described in the discussion at http://drupal.org/node/470538, but there's no resolution to the issues posted there.

Successful Implementation... Almost

I spent quite a bit of time in the last week finishing up a new Drupal 6 site for the Iowa Geocachers Organization (http://new.IowaGeocachers.org) and most of the time was spent bridging our old phpBB2 forums into the site after an upgrade to phpBB3 and installation of the phpbbforums module.

Everything seems to be working well for MOST users. However, I have a handful of old forum users who, when they visit the new site or forums, get a perpetual string of FATAL errors mostly referring to re-declaration of various user functions like the one shown here:

Need help with functionality problems

Hello all,

This is my first time on here, so I'm not even sure if this is the correct way to submit a query. Anyway, I installed what was supposed to be an updated version of the phpbb module for drupal from customizations made by Justin Freeman (here: http://groups.drupal.org/node/12949#comment-83937) and everything seemed to go smoothly at first (I followed the instructions given in the install.txt file I have attached - minus disabling 'account activation'). First of all is this the right module and are those install instructions standard for the phpbb module? I also have an existing drupal install, so the assumption of a fresh drupal install in the instructions does not apply in my case - if that is important. But once we get past that, my actual problem is that after I enabled the module in drupal and copied the custom php files from the module's directory over to the appropriate phpbb subdirectories as instructed I now cannot log out of phpbb (I am logged in as the admin - 'phpadmin').

Membership site problems : no syncing after install

Hi, wondering if someone could help me out with this please ?!!
I have a membership site made with Drupal 6.14 (I think) It uses loggintobogan, ubercart ect (not sure if that is relevant or not.) Also in a subdirectory is installed phpbb 3.0.5.

I ran through the install procedure with no real problems (I'm a CSS coder, not really php or mysql...) I wasnt sure about the mysql query, all I could get it to accept was ALTER TABLE users AUTO_INCREMENT = 1000; but when I run diagnostics, no problems come up Just 19 in the list under cookies !!

Co-operation between Drupal and phpBB Communities

I have used phpBB for a long time and consider it the best GPL bulletin board system available. I wish I could easily integrate it into Drupal driven sites (currently 6.14.)

At first glance the phpBBforum Integration module seems to be the solution for D6; however, after closer examination it does not look very practical due to issues associated with keeping both platforms updated without breaking the site.

As much I love phpBB, I think I may have to go with the Drupal Advanced Forum module in order to get a more usable forum functionality for a site.

phpbb and Drupal profile integration

I am working on a site for a client that has phpbb forums integrated with the phpbb module.

We are on D6 and are using Content Profile for user profiles.

I would like to integrate the phpbb profile into the drupal profile that is at user/[user_name]. I would like to have users add all their information and adjust their profiles for both drupal and phpbb on the user edit page in drupal (edit their signatures, maybe board preferences, etc.).

I am completely new to phpbb and I am not an uber coder. Any advice is appreciated, as would any links to sites that do this well.

uid row of drupal_sequences Drupal 5.15/phpBB 3.0.4/MySQL 5.0.67

I can't seem to locate the drupal_users_uid row in the drupal_sequences table. Does anyone know what I'm missing here? My drupal_sequences table has two rows. 'name' and 'id'

I do have a drupal_users table and it does have a uid row. I'm just not sure if this is what I need to edit.

Thanks in advance

Synchronization of Drupal 5.9 and PHPBB 2.x - Single-Sign-on does not work

I am trying to join www.myrockinspace.com/cms and www.rockabilly-forum.de. It is Drupal 5 and PHPBB 2.x. Everything works, apart from the single-sign-on.
I am suspecting some cookie issue.

After an Analysis of the module and the cookies PHPBB sets, I think there should be two cookies:
one named mycookiename_data, and one named mycookiename_sid. (my cookie name is php2rockabilly)

What strikes me, is the _sid one is missing. I only have php2rockabilly_data

Also the format of "Content" of phptorockabilly_data is weird: Firefox shows me the

Change Superuser

I created a superuser account when I set up my new drupal integrated forum. I imported my old forum into my new one. However after importing the old forum into the new one the old superuser account can not log in to the forum anymore. How does the integration module check if it should or should not allow access to the forums for a user?

1) Users in the drupal user table.
2) Content in the old forum

Does anyone have any suggestion on how to do this?

Thanks!
