A few things you should check out if you're in/near Orlando.
First, Central Florida PHP and second Florida Creatives.
I organize Florida Creatives, and we have a large number of web developers and designers attend each month. Our next Happy Hour will be at the Crooked Bayou, across the street from the Orlando Library. Our meetings are always 3rd Mondays of the month in the same place.
Another cool group is Mike Girouard's CFPHP. He has his meetings at DeVry University @ Millenia on select Saturdays once a month. This event could use a few more people. I'd love to have a Drupal User's Group, but if we can't make a big enough PHP group, Drupal should be the second priority.
The next CFPHP is titled "Bring Your Own Database" and is intended to help PHP programmers with database normalization. It is Saturday, October 27th from 3-5PM. Check CFPHP.org for more info and future dates.
