Vancouver

We encourage users to post events happening in the community to the community events group on https://www.drupal.org.

Welcome to VANDUG!

The Vancouver Drupal Users Group (VanDUG) is the local meeting place for Greater Vancouver people interested in Drupal. We were formerly known as the Vancouver League of Drupalers, but that's a long story.

The group mostly hangs out on Slack at https://vandug.slack.com/. We also post our meetings on Meetup.com at https://www.meetup.com/Vancouver-Drupal-Users-Group. All are welcome, it's listed as a private group to keep out the griefers.

We've been holding semi-regular virtual meetings during COVID-19.

2) http://linuxfestnorthwest.org/2016/sessions/drupal-8-build-something-ama...

It'd be great to also get a Drupal booth in the Expo hall. I'm reaching out to the DA to see if we can get some support with signage, etc.

Is there interest in attending and taking a shift at the Drupal Booth? We need to know by Monday, Feb 29th.

Drupal Meetup: Introduction to Drupal 8 Module Development

Start:
2016-02-25 18:30 - 20:00 America/Vancouver
Organizers:
Event type:
User group meeting

We will be learning about how dependency injection works in Drupal 8, and how to create and use our own services in the Service Container. We'll build a small module that provides a service and uses it to create a page in Drupal. In the process we'll look at PSR-4 namespaces, and extending core Drupal classes. Doug was heavily indebted to Drupalize.Me, whose tutorials on these subjects were responsible for many 'Aha!' moments while he was learning Drupal 8.

Drupal Meetup: Multi-headed Drupal, an alternative

Start:
2016-01-28 18:30 UTC
Event type:
User group meeting

Managing many closely related websites, or sites subdivided in a plurality of rich, self-affirming sections, is a complex problem. Whether it’s a company with multiple departments or a newspaper with content curated for different regions, this issue has powerful implications at the content architecture, design and development levels.

Typical solutions in Drupal have been threefold: domain access module; multisite configuration; organic groups. Combinatory solutions are also possible. All bring advantages but also considerable caveats.
