SoCal Code Camp - Los Angeles
This year there will be a Drupal track!
Code Camp is a free event for developers to come and learn from their peers. This community driven event has become an international trend where peer groups of all platforms, programming languages and disciplines band together to bring content to the community.
We're looking for session speakers.

Come get involved, learn and contribute to Drupal!
We're organizing a code sprint for Sunday Oct 14th to help get Twig into core.
Jen Lampton will be joining us to help provide direction and the Twig team will try to flag some novice issues for us to focus on.
This event is the day after Drupal Design Camp LA 2012 at Droplabs in Downtown LA. Please consider signing up for the event and picking the Twig code sprint session there (or signing up here) to receive any announcements or updates.

What ever happened to the Theming Study Group? I still plan to do it but it will have to wait or somebody else can take up the gauntlet.
I wanted to wait until Paul’s Development Study Group got going, since the study group concept was his idea. But now that we are off to a great start in the Devel SG I am just over booked and can’t take on any more commitments for a while. Once we start to wind down In the Development Group I will have more time to do my own Study Group. So maybe 3 months.

How to Make Awesomesauce
This is a Power Point review and summary of Mortendk's presentation at the Chicago DrupalCon 2011. (attached below as a PDF file)
Morten is one of the most prominent Drupal themers, I have heard speak several times, and as always he was very entertaining. In addiction, in this wide ranging and fast pace talk, he covered topics that I thought very useful, and thought provoking for my follow themers.

We are having another LAdrupal.org site build sprint, this time focused on the theme!
At the guidance of Helior and Michael Thorne, we are setting up the site to use Panels and Features, and packaging the views into their own elements so that many people can be involved in theming the site without stepping on each other's toes. This meeting will be the opportunity to get involved, learn what needs to be done, and also have the "what's next" conversation!
We are meeting at Benno's in Hollywood. Please RSVP in order to get the details.

We received a specific request for help with an arrayshift-based distribution site. This is really cool, as Markus and I have been working with just such a site for one of our clients over the past several months and so this is right up our alley (you never know where a clinic question may come from).

What have some people found to be the best resource for learning and mastering CSS. I have some ideas of where to go for resources, but it is always good to ask the community where they have best learned their skills from. I am looking for books, on-line tutorials, videos, etc. I plan on editing and creating custom themes and sub-themes. Any resources and advice anyone would like to post up would be great.
Thanks!

We have a few seats open for this small workshop/lunch. If you're looking for an excuse to visit Ojai, here it is!
A DrupalQue is two slices of lean Drupal learning, wrapped around a Bar-B-Que. So let's all queue up for some Drupal learning fun on Saturday, June 26th. It's lean, because each session is about a specific aspect of Drupal.
