Sponsorship Packages

During the planning session for the upcoming DrupalCamp we discussed the need for sponsorship packages to help offset the costs of the event, which should end up costing about $7,000 or so, and we decided to come up with sponsorship packages. Below are my initial thoughts on DrupalCamp Philly sponsorship packages, but please keep in mind that some of the items are are up in the air, as we're still not certain whether we'll be able to offer up tables during the lunch session or whether we can put up signs on any of the rooms. Please leave any thoughts, questions, complaints, etc. in the comments. Please note that at least one of my suggestions would alter the timetable slightly.

Sponsorship Levels

Here's a first take at sponsorship levels. Please leave comments or edit directly if you have additional thoughts.

The following levels of sponsorship are available for Philly DrupalCamp Fall 2008. This is our first year holding a DrupalCamp in Philly, and we greatly appreciate the support of the community in raising the funds to hold a first-class event.

Tentative date/location for DrupalCamp Philly - Nov 19th!

So, we have some trouble with the university locations not being available during the day -- got very close but couldn't make it work. Next time we'll know to plan MUCH farther ahead if we want a university during the day.

Session ideas

Let's hear your ideas for sessions! Especially if you're willing to speak on the topic yourself. I think we should shoot for a mix of single-speaker sessions, panel discussions, and facilitated group discussions. Feel free to indicate how you'd like to see each session or topic handled, and/or if you're offering to host a session, how you'd like to host it.

Venue Ideas

Here are some possible venues that have been mentioned:

  • Penn
  • Drexel
  • University of the Arts
  • University of the Sciences in Philadelphia (USP)
  • Frankilin Institute
  • BaseKamp

I really favor the colleges, because (1) the facilities are a natural fit for what we need, and more importantly (2) there's a decent chance of picking up students, university staff, and faculty who would add to the community.
