April meetup proposal
Hi all,
Last night was my first night back to the group for a while (after living in South Wales for a couple of years, I'm back living in Bristol now) - was good to catch up with some people I haven't seen in a while and meet some new ones.
I was wondering how people felt about changing the format of the meetups a bit, to have a couple of short talks (or maybe a longer one), and then a social bit after?
This might require a new venue, so we can have a room and a projector, but I'm hoping we can keep it in a pub still.

Hello everyone :-)
Over at the United Kingdom group, darthsteven has been putting together a proposal for an organisation to benefit local groups and meetups in England and Wales. I think it could only be a good thing to have Wales well represented within such an association.
Do go ahead and make your feelings known: http://groups.drupal.org/node/285888 - and likewise if you fancy talking about it here, it would be equally as good.

Going to DrupalCon?
It's become a fine tradition of European DrupalCons to have a meet up of the Drupal UK community in a local British pub, and this year is no exception!
Come to Kennedy's on Wednesday night to talk Drupal with people from all over the UK, and experience a German take on a traditional British pub.
We have space booked from 7 p.m., so if you don't recognise anyone, and you don't spot any Drupal t-shirts, just ask for Drupal at the bar and they'll point you to our room.

May meetup (let's hope it stops raining this year)
A meetup for May - let's explore a slightly more structured format if we can.
I was thinking a 15-30 minute presentation, followed by dividing into groups - perhaps a "How do I" group to get some guided walkthroughs on Drupal related tasks, and a "Let's build a" group, to work on a lightning project, which could ideally be contributed. Bring a laptop if you have one, we can all join in :-)
I'm not sure what the presentation will be on yet, so I'll add a poll after this, with the current ideas in. The most popular one gets to speak ;-)

So, there was a bit of chat last night about what we should do at the next meetup, now we all know each other and everyone knows what a Drupal is. I reckon the best way forward is if anyone who reckons they could do a talk puts themselves forward with some suggestions, or anyone who'd like a talk on a specific thing puts the topic forward and we'll see if anyone wants to cover it.
So, I'd be happy to offer a talk on Apache Solr (A better search engine that works with Drupal), Drupal Commerce or Making Drupal run fast. Shout if they interest you, or you've got something else in mind.

Hello all,
a tentative stab at organisation has resulted in a meetup at a new location!
We'll be meeting up at Sequence in Cardiff, to cover some ground in learning how Drupal contribution works, how we can get more involved in our favourite projects, and how we can share our ideas with the Drupal community.

Hi all, is there anyone in the Swansea area that can meet up to help me out with some theming? I need to working out the following:
how to design headers and footers
how to create custom menus
how to create new regions
I have experience of html, photoshop and basic drupal.
I am not a total noob (but I'm pretty close!)
here is a site I have started putting together for my current employer: www.alphasafetysolutions.co.uk
My boss would like me to maintain the site, and perhaps change it around a bit.
Can anyone help me out? Perhaps I can offer you some free training? :)

Since we're having fewer and fewer people turn out for meetups in Cardiff lately, I was thinking of changing the format slightly. I'm not sure if it's that we're not really exploring enough Drupal, or whether the audience down this way wants something different entirely, but I've had some ideas and I thought I'd float them here.
In the future I think we could:
- Change the location so there's a more organised 'feel' to the whole thing. Utilising some better media for presenting might give more focus on properly exploring topics.

It's that time of month again (!!) - and I can't believe how quickly these come around..
So we'll hold another Drupal meetup, get some food in and maybe learn something about something Drupal related. Last time was pretty sparse, but that allowed us to go through git in great detail with shonk. This time I think I'd welcome someone else showing something off, maybe? Or a quick tour of Drupal Commerce, and how it works?
You guys decide!

September!
Hi all,
so we've completely forgotten to advertise a meetup, and there's one happening in Bristol on Wednesday night also, but for those in or near Cardiff, we're still having a meetup, assuming anyone turns up!
I think we're either going to look at Drupal Commerce or git - depending on which way we get swayed by the populace. Usual place - chez SubHub. Reply if you need directions ;-)
