Hi all,
After the success of the first ever South Wales Drupal Meetup on 8 October 2010, we've decided as a group we can tolerate each others company for at least another session! :) j/k!
This is basically the kick of to discuss any topics we'd like to cover and any other points of interest for the agenda. We should also think about venue and dates etc.
So feel free to throw your thoughts into pot!
Many thanks
Jonathan
South Wales Drupal Meetup
Please make yourself welcome at the inaugural meetup for the South Wales Drupal User Group!
We'll be meeting in the communal area just outside of the SubHub HQ, at:
4, The Studios
3 Burt Street
Cardiff
CF10 5FZ
No real heavyweight agenda set as yet, but I'm personally hoping we can use the time to:
a. Eat some pizza
b. Get to know each other a bit
c. Decide on what the user group is for
d. Figure out what to do together online, and in future meetups
South Wales Drupal Meet-Up?
Any plans for the near future?
Read moreHelp with bilingualism
Hello all.
I'm new to Drupal and to creating a bilingual website. I was wondering if someone could help me. I'm in charge of bangorlabour.org.uk and have to make it a bilingual site (ie Welsh and English). I've got stuff up in English and know what I need to write in Welsh. But I've no idea how to make it so that the user can select his or her language of preference.
I've tried searching for FAQs, walkthroughs or how tos, but with little avail. Can anyone here help me? I'd be very grateful! Ta.

If you're interested in a London DrupalCon please join us on IRC #drupalcon for a two hour Q&A session starting 9 p.m. (GMT) on Friday 9th October.
Hats of to the Copenhagen team who did a similar Q&A session this week which you can read here:

Read moreCity selection for DrupalCon 2010 still wide open
Please note that the list of cities from http://groups.drupal.org/node/26241 (as per the BoF in Paris) is just a list of possible suggestions. Please see the draft document that has been proposed for city selection guidelines: http://groups.drupal.org/node/27246
The goal is to publish that document at the end of this week (after incorporating feedback from the community) and to start receiving city proposals immediately after that. Since we need to have recommendations to give to the Drupal Association by October 15 the proposal phase will have to be short. The proposal phase will probably end October 1. After that we will have the proposals reviewed by the events agency to gather their feedback in time for the October 15 deadline.
If you want DrupalCon in your city/country in 2010 please review the document and add your feedback!

DrupalUK meet up at Drupalcon
I haven't seen any plans for a DrupalUK meet up, so what do you want to do?
Read moreDrupal jobs in the current economic mess (tl;dr: I want a Job)
I will graduate from Cardiff University with a BSc Computer Science degree in a little over a month. I've been building sites with Drupal 6 since last year following a brief foray into Mambo for a couple of contracts.
Considering how larger businesses are trying to cut back on expenditure, what are the chances of there being a good job for me? Maybe there's a job out there in an outfit targeting companies taking advantage of others' bad luck... Does anyone know of a suitable job, or have any tips they might be able to offer to me or other Drupalers in a similar position?

Following the huge success of the first Ignite Cardiff (and in fact the first Ignite to be held in the UK) we're really excited to be announcing Ignite Cardiff #2!
Once again we've come together with Nocci and we're hoping that Ignite 2 will be even bigger and better than the first.
Thanks to those wonderful people at Lonely Planet, we're going to be offering some free drinks, free nibbles and hopefully some gorgeous Lonely Planet books. We're going to be at Sodabar again and we're also in the process of negotiating discounted drinks prices for the night, just for Ignite attendees.
Read moreDrupalCampUK
ok, I have just noticed galooph has setup the DrupalCampUK group. Don't know if they have one planned or just setup the group for fun, but we should have one.
My criteria:
- Must be on a weekend so all can attend.
- Must be in a good location.
- Must have Wi-Fi access.
So where to we go now.
Read moreWelsh .po files
Although I don't speak Welsh I would like to get a collection of Welsh translations together for Drupal.
I thought I would play around with the translation modules on my blog last night and installed french, spanish and welsh. French and spanish both had a few hundred core translations, welsh had none and there are no downloadable welsh translations I can see.
Are there any?
Can we do somthing about it?
Do I need to learn welsh?
Help!
