Florida Drupal Camp Planning Conference Call
Join the fun in planning Florida DrupalCamp 2010 by dialing in for tonight's conference call. Feel free to call in and just lurk or better yet, get involved. The more people we get helping, the better the camp will be!

- event insurance: Hewie/Andrew
- web site: Andrew/Erik/Hewie (event brite)
- budget: everybody
- day 2 (name, application process): Mike

DrupalCamp Florida 2010 Hotel?
I've been in contact with a number of people around the state regarding DrupalCamp Florida and I've had several people ask me about hotels near the event.
Perhaps someone local to the Orlando/Altamonte Springs area (whose name isn't Andrew) can step up and find a hotel near MindComet's offices and see if we can work out some sort of group rate? This would be valuable information that we can put on the web site and it might entice more people to attend and stay for both days.
Anyone? Anyone? Bueller? Bueller?
Thanks,
-mike
Potential Participating Non-Profit Organization for DrupalCamp 2010
With plans for Florida DrupalCamp 2010 well underway and our discussions about building a site for a non-profit organization on Day 2 of the camp, I figured I'd create a place to start capturing all of the good ideas as well as names of potential non-profit partners for the event.
What to call day 2 of DrupalCamp Florida?
At Saturday's most-excellent central Florida Drupal meetup, we had a discussion about what we should call day 2 of DrupalCamp. As you may or may not know, this year, we're adding a second day to DrupalCamp Florida where we're going to be building a full site for a local non-profit organization. We're going to pre-select an organization prior to the event and do some initial legwork, but 100% of the development will be done on day 2 of the camp.
Central Florida October Meetup Wrapup
Thanks to everyone to coming out for the October, 2009 Central Florida Meetup at MindComet's offices in Altamonte Springs.
We started off with a demonstration/discussion/exploration of the latest Drupal 7 development version. We took about an hour to explore all the new features. We spent a significant amount of time with the Dashboard module, fields in core, taxonomy as fields (wow), and ImageAPI in core (sweet).

module work | BFS
We are hoping to find someone who can help us with integrating an external database into views. Currently the date api and Views will not recognize a datetime field properly. We have Fields now recognizing it properly through some modifications, but it is not showing up as an option for the date module under filters. Our budget is limited, but I don't expect it would take much time for someone with the right experience. The objective of this is to release it to the modules so you will be helping the community as well.

Contract Developer | Orlando24.net
Hi! I'm mike and I wanted to see if anyone would be interested in some
contract work for my Orlando based drupal site. I need some help on a
calendar section problem that has us stumped. I'm sure it wouldn't
take much time for a more experienced pro but it's got us banging our
heads. I'd be more than happy to discuss rates for contract work.
Here's what we're looking to do.
- I'm planning a user submission calendar for accounts given to our
advertisers to post an "event" content type and I'm having trouble
configuring it. I want it linked to a calendar legend on the front

Maintain the Momentum in Miami
Thanks to everyone who came out for last night's South Florida Drupal User's meetup! It was a great turnout for your first meetup in a long time, now all that needs to be done is to build on the momentum we gained last night.
The 15+ people who attended last night seemed to really enjoy it - thanks for making Ryan and myself feel at home. One word of advice, next time DrupalEasy.com offers to buy you a beverage, you should take it - I got out of there quite inexpensively last night!
Great Restart to the Drupal Miami Meetup!
Last night we had an astounding restart to our drupal meetups. About 15 (someone correct me if they actual counted) drupalistas of all stripes were there. The cafe was very accommodating and gave us a big table in the back to do our meetup. Here's a list of the presentations. For those of you who presented, can you please add in the details?

I'm a veteran Drupal developer of 5 years now and unfortunately the company I worked for has gone under and am looking for employment developing Drupal sites. I have a great deal of experience installing and administering Drupal as well as creating themes for Drupal (via scratch or from a template). I've also begun working on module creation.
