The first meeting of the Waterloo Region Drupal user group will be held on Friday 04 April 2008, at The Working Centre in Kitchener Ontario.
All with an interest in Drupal are welcome.
Topic: Getting to know Drupal (and you) - A round-table discussion of Drupal and our experiences with it.
Since this is the inaugural meeting we'll make sure that everybody has a chance to participate. Beginners will have a chance to ask basic questions and more experienced users and developers will have a chance to present their interests and concerns. This is the ideal meeting to attend regardless of your level of newbie-ness (or not). Join us and help decide the direction of the Waterloo Region Drupal group.
Location: The Working Centre, 43 Queen Street S, Kitchener ON

Don't mean to be a prat, be can I assume the meeting isn't actually at 19:00 GMT?

Great meeting
Thanks to everyone who showed up yesterday, we had a great and informative meeting.
A total of 7 people showed up, which is great turnout, many of whom never each other met before.
Here is a photo of the group.
A copy of the presentation can be found in this blog post.
Those who attended and talked about web sites may want to post the URLs for others as a comment on this topic.
Looking forward to further meetings.

Thanks!
It was good to have met those that turned up! As I mentioned, at PeaceWorks, we've been steadily growing what we've been doing with Drupal over the past year, but we still have plenty to learn, and I look forward to the next meeting and finding out more about the various and sundry modules that you folks are enamored with. At Khalid's urging, here's the site that I mentioned, along with a couple others that we've worked on:
...I'll stop there, though there are a few more, and some in the works. Most of these were site conversions, some with new graphics, and some simply ported.
For those of you that don't know PeaceWorks, we're all about providing top-shelf IT and consulting services (business analysis/consulting, system maintenance, software development, hosting, and sales) with a focus on making these services affordable and effective for the not-for-profit and charitable sectors. We work in all sectors, and subsidize the not-for-profits as much as we are able by redirecting our profits from for-profit work.
You can visit our site at http://www.peaceworks.ca if you like, but know ahead of time that it's a clear example of the cobbler's kids' shoes. Our new site (in Drupal, natch) is nearing completion. I can't wait. :)
Thanks again, Khalid, for your presentation!
peace,
Nolan
glad meeting #1 was a success!
7 people is a great start ... hope to make it out for one of these some day! :)
Pick a topic
That would be awesome!
Let us know what topic you want to present, and we will schedule it.
Hopefully after DrupalCamp Toronto sometime. Maybe June?
