STORM (SpeedTech Organization and Resource Manager) is a project management application for Drupal.

It provides the following features :

* Attributes : to manage the different list of values used in STORM, like : tasks status, countries, currencies and so on
* Organizations : the companies or individual stakeholders of your projects
* Projects : your projects. Every project can have multiple tasks hierarchically nested to build a WBS
* Tasks : the parts that compose a project
* Tickets : every ticket can be associated with an organization, project and task
* Timetrackings : where you can register your activities on an organization, project, task or ticket
* People : organizations's contacts
* Permission control : a fine grained permission control permits to share the data with other users and organizations

Has anyone tried this out and have a comparison to basecamp/unfuddle/trac/jira, etc?

This module is gaining some

lefnire's picture

This module is gaining some popularity it seems, and I've been noticing consistent development hours in CVS commits & releases. Got a good review on drupalmodules.com, and more downloads than project.module for whatever that's worth ;)

I'd like to see this take over as de-facto PM module in drupal! obviously drupal's got the potential, but seems to be a bit rusty in this area prior to STORM, I'm definitely going to keep my eye on this guy & see where it goes. Great job!

I just installed it and had a quick play, looks very good. BUT and its a big but - why oh why does it re-invent the wheel? Seems it should be dependent upon CCK + others so to use their code to avoid duplication and allow for simpler customization? I know you can extend the functioanlity with CCK, but, what if i want to change or delete the pre-built fields?

I raised the issue on the queue here : http://drupal.org/node/293485

Does this integrate into

Does this integrate into Subversion's hooks to link commits to tickets?

Hi.

Short answer : no. My object is to keep the application as generic as possible and not tied to a particular
work sector, like software development.

Not sure what are your needs, but you could, for example, add your own field to Ticket using CCK.

GANTT Charts?

I didn't see this as an option, but is there a way to do GANTT charts in STORM?

New maintainer needed for STORM

krisbfunk's picture

I just noticed this in the Issues list of STORM.. i think this module has great potential if another developer interested in project management gave it the proper nourishment.

Looking for a new maintainer

Roberto Gerola - March 23, 2009 - 05:43

Description

Hi.

For personal reasons I'm no more able to continue the development of this project.
It is too much work for a person only and I'm not able to find sponsors to continue
the development.

I'm looking for a new maintainer whom to pass the project.

Thanks, Roberto.

STORM now has a new

STORM now has a new maintainer: Magnity

Since I was on this thread

Since I was on this thread and saw myself mentioned I thought i'd "leave my visiting card" so to speak.

STORM will be under active development again within a month or so (as of yet i've really only been sorting out the issues queue).

I'd encourage anyone who is interested to really be active in putting forward their issues - as although I have particular things that I'd like to see happen, my usage will never be as widespread as the 450 or so users that are out there (according to the project/usage stats).

The other thing is that I suspect that the majority of the people who use STORM are actually Drupal developers, so there is no excuse not to be submitting patches ;-)

Storm duplicates

Hi guys, I'm building a website where I have the users already using a content profile for their business details.
Is there a way to use their accounts and details within Storm, rather than having to recreate them all again. I see you can reference a Person to a user but it doesn't grab any info off their accounts.
Cheers,

Are you migrating an existing

Magnity's picture

Are you migrating an existing site or is it a new one?

If it is new, then I'd suggest perhaps making the stormperson node a content profile in itself (not that I've tested this method though). But if it is an existing site then you may not wish to migrate all of the nodes like this. Currently there isn't a method for automatically grabbing the info unfortunately.

The best place for support like this is the issues list... http://drupal.org/project/issues/storm

Still going strong

flickerfly's picture

Just to add to the info, the D7 version of storm will apparently support fields in core (CCK).

It has a currently experimental Gantt Chart feature that can be enabled, but is off by default.

Two new addon type module have added new functionality to improve it's abilities. They are pretty fresh at this point, but look interesting.

This project continues to grow and develop and make me want to stay around. Robert and now Magnity are doing a very nice job with this.
