e-Commerce Overview

Good Day To All,

I was wondering if someone can point me in the right direction. I am new to e-Commerce and I am planning to setup a site using Drupal with this functionality. I am familiar with Drupal but not with ecommerce. I just need an overview of what is needed to launch an online store. What else do I need besides Drupal and the e-Commerce Module. What security measures can I implement and etc. Any information or help is kindly appreciated.

Hmm... some of this also gets covered in the Ubercart user docs if you're still evaluating e-Commerce vs. Ubercart as your e-commerce solution for Drupal. With Ubercart, an SSL certificate, and the secure pages module, you can achieve maximum security. You have to make sure to setup encryption in the CC settings and use a secure payment gateway - PayPal is included in core for several of their payment methods.

mgoltra: please note that rszrama's comment is unrelated to drupal ecommerce.

Also note that ecommerce provides SSL security, encryption, paypal, etc, etc. All the same things as ubercart.
