Events happening in the community are now at Drupal community events on www.drupal.org.

Hi folk. This is a CROSS-POST from My Drupal showcase story (Yay, Front page, Drupal.org thanks Webchick!) that I thought I'd share with the Kiwis specifically.

Only local images are allowed.

Last week, I released thevintageaviator.co.nz. It was probably one of the most challenging Drupal sites I've ever done, but also the best so far. It's a presentation of a local WW1 Warplane workshop, containing build stories, reference material, and thousands of great images of plane reproductions and archive materials.

Read (and feedback) on the long techie story over there. ... If you want :-)

Awesome site. Saw it at Drupal.org and was very impressed. Probably almost as good as going there -without the smell of diesel and oil!

Shame it doesn't adapt to screen sizes -- looks really strange on an eeePc.

I can't say I've got one of those to test on. Nor an Iphone. My fingers are too big. :-}
With the huge images as a pre-requisite, hand-helds were not a target.
Min-res is 800 wide, usable at 640. In theory.
You have a screenshot?

There are probably a few rendering engines that still don't know how to scale images, but the current and previous versions of the top 4 browsers seemed to do fine... eventually. I know there's a big problem in IE3 :-B
browsershots.com didn't show me any serious unexpected problems ... but there's always one...

Great work

You have done an amazing job with this web site, sounds like it was a real marathon effort. Web sites like these prove how attractive drupal can look in the right hands. Have you ever thought of creating a Drupal theme for the community?
