TheSkinDrop.com
TheSkinDrop.com is a collection of what I deem high quality skins for multiple different devices.
The site is my first Drupal 6 site, and my first Zen Theme.
It is still in Beta, not to be 'web 2.0', but because the nature of Drupal 6 modules at the moment I was forced to use a few Dev modules, and even do a fair bit of porting myself just to get the modules I wanted.
I also wrote two modules specifically for the site, one which was released as a project on Drupal.org (mobile_codes) and another which is site specific.
All feedback is appreciated.

Great Job
Hey what did you use to do those cool ajax popups (like the ones that say iPhone etc.)
Can these only be used on images or other nodes too?
Great site!

Thanks :) The popups are
Thanks :)
The popups are part of the custom module, but are extremely simple:
- There's a hidden DIV for each item of the View.
- Each of the hidden DIV has a background image (the label).
- Each item of the View has a simple jQuery action attached that unhides and slides up the DIV on mouse over, back on mouse out.
It could be attached to anything you want. If you want more details I would be happy to help.
Awesome
I am new to drupal and I dont realize drupal can do such things. I'm impressed
Well done. Great jobs. Excellents.
Please give us some details about it .... :)
This is actually quite a
This is actually quite a simple site, it just has a few extra loving touches. In a sense it was more about me exploring what could be done.
great looking!
that is such a great looking site, i am amazed that you used zen and it came out looking so unique.
just some feedback, you can take or leave it as you like...
Mostly regarding navigation:
* It is hard to navigate in terms of selecting skins for a specific type of phone. I assume you want people to get through all the pages, but they might find it frustrating. You can't see the phone names unless you scroll over. If you could work it in, a navigation menu by operating system would be good.
* When you have selected to zoom into a phone, I think it would be good to show which one you had selected, Or find some way of indicating which were visited links. Also, a bigger X would be good. It took a while for me to find that.
Otherwise, well done and best of luck on your new venture :)
Zen is nearly 100% flexible,
Zen is nearly 100% flexible, in this case it was perfect for the site, but the reality is there isn't that much to the design of the page.
As for the navigation, while there is the ability to click on the name of an artist or a device and get a listing of skins by that artist or for that device, I also intend to add a filter section at the top of the page.
I think you are right about the highlighting the skin you selected, I will look into add that down the track. As for the close button, I'm not sure what to do with that, it was left out of the design until the last minute. I will have to go back to the drawing board and see what I can do.
Thanks for the feedback :)
good looking site
The site looks good. I enjoy the use of ajax and jquery.
I strongly agree that users should be able to filter the view by device and possibly by artist as well. That would really help with the initial feeling of being a little be lost. Since most people probably have only 1 device, this should be the first thing that filter the results by. If there are not many devices, you go do this as navigation to make it stand out more, but if you think that the list of devices is going to outgrow a navigation menu, then a "Select Your Device" dropdown menu may work as well.
Regarding the close button ... hmmm ... that a bit trickier. I didn't have trouble finding the close button but I initially felt it was odd that the popup covered up half search results. Perhaps offsetting the popup and making it dragable??? Or perhaps make the close operation easier by making it so that if you click outside of the popup it closes (much like a thickbox behaves)??? IDK - both of these have problems.
Great site
I noticed the Author/Device View is returning an error. Maybe the paths need some fixing.
Great site, I am willing to help with the write up to ensure it gets the Drupal front page attention. You're the classic case study we want to showcase and promote to the web: a fresh new comer and capable of tailoring the package to produce striking concepts using Drupal.
Let me know, and keep up the great work!

Truly flattered
Hi BioALIEN,
Thank you for your kind words, I am truly flattered.
I haven't given the site much attention of late as I am trying to push out a major update to my main site. A good amount of the changes made to that site will directly affect TheSkinDrop as well as they share a codebase.
With that said I will certainly look into the issue you pointed out and try to get that fixed up ASAP.
I'm certainly interested in your offer, however I am unsure if the site is in a state to me promoted as front page news.
Cheers,
Deciphered.
