A little success to celebrate?

Events happening in the community are now at Drupal community events on www.drupal.org.

From the Information Week article on Drupal.

It assumes that you know very little about running servers, setting up a database or tweaking PHP, and instead gives a step by step walkthrough for setting up your first site. This is the kind of new-user-friendly attitude that the Drupal community exudes.

(emphasis mine). This is much more positive about the ease of installation than any other industry magazine review of Drupal I've seen. I know there's more work to do, but we should also celebrate the success of things like the very simple and powerful multi-page installer.

Great News!

I think the movement with emphasis on usability is a really good one, still a lot of work and mindset to be changed but we are slowly getting there. I do agree that most magazines still write Drupal down quite negatively (but they are always comparing it with blogging solutions)

Nice find!

What? Drupal's not just a blogging platform?

@greggles, Nice find! Thanks for posting that link, it shows that all our living-room-couch efforts are actually making a difference in the product's perception to the world.
