The CKAN (http://ckan.net/about) module was published by the UK government. This module allows content to be synched from CKAN into Drupal. See open data sets from different governments: http://ckan.net/tag/government
CKAN is the system UK use as their “back end” to store information about all the data government has released. Drupal is used as a system to publish web content, and serves as their “front end” through which people can use to find our datasets and comment on them.
Due to the licence (Crown copyright, some kind of GPL) it is at the moment not possible to include this module at drupal.org. We could ask them to change the copyright.

Drupal + CKAN
The Drupal CKAN project page is now at: http://drupal.org/project/ckan
I hear there are plans to make Drupal 7 the default frontend for CKAN.
Any progress?
This seems like an interesting project, but currently poorly documented on d.o. Is there any progress in creating a drupal module release, or in updating for drupal 7? The module seems aimed at creating a content type to match CKAN data, has is any greater integration into Views etc being worked on?
