Denver DBUG Meetup Aug 26th (Tuesday) 6:30pm - 8:30pm
We are not sure where the meeting will be this month. The DNCC overlaps our day and it will be difficult to get downtown.
Wanted to put up the event so you would save the date.
We are looking for a place to have the meeting for this one time and then return to DOM as usual.
See below for a list of presentations and/or topics (this will be updated as the event unfolds).
Please use the Sign-up button if you plan on attending (even if it is a Maybe) and you will get a reminder the day before the event.
I will update you on presentations as people let me know what they want to see and who will be willing to present.
Presentations scheduled:
1. Discussion on Most useful/used modules. [Led by beeradb and MikeH (if available) with help from our friends]
2. ? ? ? ? ... Please make a suggestion.
Please send me any ideas, requests, or presentations you are willing to give.
See you there ... Paul

Favorite Modules?
I think a well attended session at Drupalcamp which could benefit from more discussion is the 'wisdom of the crowds' session that Mike Hostetler was going to give. Of course he was sick, but another gentleman stepped up and it went forward in a very open format, with people just throwing out their favorite modules and having the group discuss the benefits/drawbacks of them.
I think it's really valuable information for newer/intermediate users, and something that could benefit from being touched upon again. I'd be willing to lead a discussion on this, or naturally if Mike would want to do it I'd step aside.
Ten Drupal 6 modules for every site
I have yet been able to attend any of the Drupal meetups in Denver/Boulder, and was out of town during the Drupalcamp time frame, but look forward to attending in the near future. I've been working w/Drupal now for almost 2 years, and at the time I learned of Drupal was developing my own ajax driven CMS, and scrapped it to the junk-heap once I saw how powerful Drupal was.
I recently compiled a list of modules that were some of my personal favorites/and ones I HAD to have on almost any site I worked on.
Ten Drupal 6 modules for every site. Mind you, it's "my" personal list, and some of them are no brainers like CCK & Views, but it's a decent list with a little information about each module, along with a few honorable mentions.

DNC Drupal site could use some love
Denver Open Media is hosting dozens of independent journalists for Indymedia, working with the newly-revived Colorado Independent Media Center. The COIMC website has been re-created in Drupal, but could really use some TLC and help. If you're willing to help in the next few days as things really start to heat up, please drop a line to Ringo Kamens at 2600denver(at)gmail (dotcom).
Thanks,Tony
Whatever your first issue of concern, media had better be your second, because without change in the media, the chances of progress in your primary area are far less likely. http://denveropenmedia.org

Is there any further discussion as to where this meetup will take place?

I'm curious about whether or
I'm curious about whether or not this is actually happening as well. If we need a venue, the Aten Design Group offices are always available to this group. My feeling is that if we don't have anything concrete scheduled at this hour this meeting is probably not happening?

Meet up at DOM as usual
The meetup will be at DOM as usual ... we will meet downstairs.
There is some DNC stuff going on and so bring your Drivers License to show at the door.
See you there ... Paul
