Boulder DBUG Meet-Up this Wednesday at pingVision
Wednesday evening we will be hosting our monthly D/BUG meet-up here at pingVision.
As usual, the agenda is open. We have tentatively planned a presentation on using Views for presenting search results, and if there's interest in that, we'll go ahead with that.
As usual, we'll also have time for website showcases, if anyone wants to show off their latest, greatest creation, and problem solving for anyone stuck with a challenge.
And, as usual, we'll have pizza and drinks available.
Meet and greet starts at 6:30. Presentations start around 7. People new to Drupal are most welcome, too, so don't be shy! We'd love to have you!
If you're coming, please RSVP here or on the Meet-Up page, so we know how much food and drink to have on hand.

side discussion overview
I'll leave the meat of the Views piece for John to summarize - I don't want to steal his thunder. I really appreciated his presentation and thought it was a great intro to Views2.
Some notes on the other discussion topics from this meeting:
eCommerce vs. Ubercart vs. other lightweight modules
Several people at the meeting have used Ubercart and none had used ecommerce module so this was largely a one sided conversation. The general consensus was that Ubercart seemed pretty good. There are also several smaller functionally specific modules that do e-commerce kinds of things easily found in this listing http://drupal.org/project/Modules/category/104 Very few if any seem to be updated for Drupal6.x.
Search
There was also lots of search discussion - sphynx, xapian, solar, core, faceted search, search relevance, etc.

Classes
I am now offering classes in Denver about how to use Drupal. I've got a 14 hour curriculum planned. You can sign up for parts and pieces depending on which part is more interesting to you. Read more in my Drupal training classes announcement post. As you can hopefully tell, this is provided for the local community and particularly for people who are new to Drupal or feeling "stuck" by some of the terminology and concepts that are new to them.
