hi all
just a little update of more redesign collaboration we're doing.
if you haven't already, consider whipping up a wireframe of a page you think needs some attention ref: http://www.disambiguity.com/drupalorg-come-wireframe-with-me/
We're also getting into tackling Information Architectuture issues with an online cardsort: http://www.disambiguity.com/drupalorg-help-overhaul-the-information-arch...
(phew, what a long URL!)
and a discussion about whether d.o is one site or many: http://www.disambiguity.com/drupalorg-one-site-or-many/
the community involvement has been incredibly helpful to date in defining the UX and IA for this project - people have been very generous with their knowledge and time and I really appreciated it.
If you haven't yet, we'd love to have you get involved.

Wireframe for a handbook page
I don't have a blog and would prefer not to create a Flickr account just for this, so I'll post my wireframe here. Tell me if you'd prefer me to move it to a separate thread!
This wireframe tries to solve what I see as the main challenge with the handbooks: There's a lot of information, but it's hard to find what you need. (Especially when you don't know yet that you need it...)
I'd like two different ways to navigate the handbook: By method (more or less how the current navigation works: Core module? Contrib? Snippet?) and by task: Navigation? Adding content? Internationalisation?) For background and a more detailed example, see http://groups.drupal.org/node/6568#comment-19577 and http://groups.drupal.org/node/6568#comment-19623.
In a perfect world, this would be implemented by each handbook page belonging to two different books. I don't think that's possible (yet?), but we can use Books for one of the navigation paths (the current one), and use a hierarchical taxonomy for the other.
I'd also like a lot more "Read more" links. These links may be pulled together in different ways: taxonomy, http://drupal.org/project/pivots, and (a few!) manually entered links.
