Hey, Drupallers:
Are you looking for ways to contribute something back to Drupal? Want to learn new and exciting things about the infrastructure --both in technology and in people-- that keeps this awesome Drupal machine humming?
Join us on 12th June for a Patch Review Mini-Workshop! Experienced Drupal contributors will be on-hand all day long to show you the ropes and get you running on a task that's crucial to maintaining Drupal's momentum.
Any large-scale software project needs "boots-on-ground" to run smoothly. Every set of hands and eyes that we can add to the patch reviewing process reduces the time good code waits to make it into Drupal, and increases the time our developers have to write great code!
YOU can help!
You DO NOT need to be a master coder to conduct patch reviews! In fact, you don't have to write code at all!
What will you learn?
- How to use the drupal.org issue queues
- How to set up a local development environment on your own machine
- How to test and review patches
Patch reviews are easy to do here and there when you have time, and will earn you the thanks of your fellow Drupallers.
When:
12th June, 2011, starting at 2PM UTC
Where:
#drupal-supportteam on Freenode IRC (See http://drupal.org/irc for additional info on Drupal IRC channels.)

Do you want to move this to the #drupal-supportteam channel, since there isn't likely to be traffic in there?
Venue Change
We've moved the venue for this session to #drupal-supportteam, just FYI and to make sure folks get the notifications.
Thanks to HedgeMage
and everyone else yesterday at the Patch Review Training Session. This was a great idea as I think a lot of times people want to get involved, but are unsure how/where to start. Getting real time guidance and instructions, tips and tricks makes it easy. Hopefully, this trend will continue.
