req. sort by date option for drupal search.

hello, i was re-directed from the main drupal site in order to ask this question;

I would like to respectfully make a suggestion about searching in drupal.org site. would it be possible to add a "sort by date added" option. oftentimes when I see the result of search. The dates of the post are mixed up. I am trying to get the most recent answer to a topic because how often things change. thanks. or if there is a way to do that and I have overlooked it, could someone please point it out to me? thanks again.

For instance see http://drupal.org/node/13771. I agree that a sort order of the search results would be a good option on the advanced search option. I see an old feature request here http://drupal.org/node/87838 that I've just reopened.
