This is a small get together that is meant to be more of a meet and great opportunity for the Chengdu Drupal Users.
Hope is that we can meet once every month an opportunity to share ideas and perhaps have a few drinks.
I believe most of us are located near city center (tianfu square) and I am not certain if best to meet at a Starbucks or pub.

Language-Corner.org got a nice structural overhaul, some added features and a a little face lift. Should be live in English and Chinese in a day or two. Hopefully have a sharable distro of the work by the end of the month.
Wifi + beer options :
Wifi + beer options : Shamrock, Dave's Oasis, Leg and Whistle. That's all the options I know of, I should probably get out more.

The most central would be daves oasis which is by the river, near sofitel hotel. The rest are all south, yulin, chuan da areas.

I don't mind where really. One possible place in the north is sims guesthouse. wifi, cheap beer and cheap food, just might be a little crowded these days
Beer and Wifi
I'd be surprised if there wasn't Wifi in Dave's Oasis although can't say I've ever noticed it the few times I've been in.
Come on though, Chengdu's tiny, surely anywhere within second ring road can't be that far for any of us. I commute from one side to the other everyday though and any of those suggestions are good as far as I'm concerned.
Another surprisingly good wifi plus beer option that people rarely think of because it doesn't advertise itself as a bar is Namaste -- it's quiet and well lit, their beer's about as cheap as anywhere and their wifi's fast because they never have any customers.
The 5 star hotels tend to have good beer and good wifi, although at least in the case of Mooney's and Kempinski (which have the best beer) they are hardly a quiet meeting environment. Also considerably more expensive.
For beer and wifi in the North -- not sure -- some of the hostel bars perhaps (I'm thinking of Mix or Sim's in particular)

Sims Guesthouse is probably better than Mix Hostel since it's a lot bigger and there's space to sit around tables. Good point that it might be busy this time of year though.

I had a word with Dave about our meeting. He said he'll do some discounts for us: beer lao 15 kuai (usually 20), guinness (in cans the good stuff) for 40 kuai (or 45 can't remember) and Qingdao for 10 (usually 15). He may have said some others but I can't remember.

Last night was great time of beer, sharing about life with Drupal and beyond!
Our next meetup will be at Dave's on the 14th of September and there after the plan is the 2nd tuesday of each month, unless otherwise noted.
