Help! We have a drupal website that was designed for us, but no support and I have millions of questions. Is there any training in the Boise area?

Welcome, Pam,
I'd suggest coming to our meetup tomorrow evening (http://groups.drupal.org/node/17799), you'll probably meet people who will be able to help you. We can also probably get some of your questions answered as a group, and at least put you on the right track for your remaining questions.
Cheers!

Pricing criteria and strategy
For those of you that are freelancers what kind of pricing strategy do you use when quoting a Drupal web development project. I am starting to get some RFPs from prospective clients and normally I would charge by the hour if it was a regular IT project, but on developing a Drupal web site I am still trying to figure this out. I am not asking how much do you guys charge, but rather what criteria do you guys use when pricing your Drupal web development services.
Thanks,
Antonio
Hey Antonio, Just saw your
Hey Antonio,
Just saw your post here regarding what to charge for Drupal services. I typically bid for a project based on the number of hours I think it would take. I've got some formulas I've sort of honed over the last several years that are usually pretty accurate. I tend to overbid a bit to give things some wiggle room, since most projects are subject to change. If things deviate much from the original agreement, I'll charge by the hour or make a smaller bid if the client wants to know up front how much it will cost.
I've done some work by the hour without a bid, and find myself linking the challenge that a bid proposes. If you can do your job more efficiently and quickly, everyone benefits. There's not the same incentive with hourly work. But, some projects are too vast in scope to do hourly, and require a lot of planning. I'd like to see those projects start out hourly until the scope is well defined.
This is also a good topic for a BDUG meeting, maybe you can bring it to the table next week?
Cheers!

Hi folks,
I did a presentation this weekend at DrupalCamp Colorado, and would be happy to run through it at the meetup if there's interest. It covers using IRC and the Issue Queues. I notice we don't have a lot of folks from this area on IRC, and it's a really helpful tool for exchanging support.
See you there!
