Hello everyone,
My name is Prashant. I represent the young professionals community (as the Secretary) of a non-profit association called the IEEE [Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers], in the AP region.I am sure some of you are aware of it. We have been credited with organizing workshops for young professionals, technical sessions, special interest group discussions, and many similar events on large scale that involved participants from across the world.
We recently found out that a DrupalCamp is being planned in Hyderabad. We'd love to be part of the organizing team and lend our volunteer experience to help with the organization. We are also happy to tell you that, amongst our community, are members who work on the Drupal platform.
On behalf of the members of IEEE, it would be great if you can have the meeting at a location in the centre of the city, like Lamakaan. Most of us will be coming from Secunderabad locality and since there is no public transport, a location like Lamakaan will ensure volunteer presence and convenience, since Gachibowli is about 15kms further.
We are sure we will be able to raise the quality of this event and that our community members will be excited to be part of this.

Just a clarification, I was talking about the organizers meeting that is being held tomorrow at Gachibowli. It would be convenient for volunteers if we can have it at Lamakaan, at the centre of the city.

The most important criteria for selecting venue should be convenience of travel and time it takes to get there. Gachibowli is neither easy to get to nor closer.
I would back the venue to be somewhere closer to the City.

And for your information this was a collective decision of the Drupal Hyderabad core committee. Please try to make it to the meeting & make it a grand success.

Reconsidering of location!
This is Sarvesh Kulkarni, member of IEEE. It is great to know that Drupal camp is being planned in Hyderabad. In view of ongoing strike by RTC and non availability of public transport in Hyderabad, I support Prashant's suggestion of having the meeting to near by place say Lamakaan since it would be difficult for most of us to travel to Gachibowli which lies on the outskirts of city...! So, It would be great if you can please consider our request of changing the location of meeting to some nearby place in Hyderabad..!

Hello everyone,
It's great to see so many requests from a diverse group of people representing the Drupal enthusiast community in town.
It is important that we demonstrate our collective potential and leverage each others strengths to make the November event a success.
Tomorrow being a weekend, and Gachibowli being almost 30-40 kilometers away from many locations in the city, the concerns are valid. Also, I think we should be sensitive to the fact that many of us need to commute back and reach homes without any auto/transport problems.
La Makaan is a central place in Hyderabad on Road no: 1 Banjara Hills, and is mid-way for everyone.
@Siva: Let us make this a fair occasion for everyone to be there and play an active role in making the event a success. Let it not be in one corner of the city.
@Prashant: Welcome on board, For sure, IEEE folk can bring great value to making the event a success across South India.
I suggest we agree to a luncheon at La Makaan. They do serve homely stuff.
Let us meet at 14.00 hrs. Does that sound okay? There are a few folk conducting a Drupal session for some students at gachibowli, which should finish before that, so they would also be able to make it to the meet.

Hi all,
It's unfortunate that most of the new people who want to be a part of the organizing committee are staying on the other side of the city. As already it was mentioned above that the venue was finalized a week ago and it will be impractical to change the venue in such a short notice(12 hours). What can be done is the core committee members(Ipsita, Asif, Venki, Asiq, Sandeep, Medhamsh, Sarath, Siddhu, Ratnamala, hari, aruna, tanay & me) can come over to Gachibowli & finish off the core committee meeting.
After that at 2:00 PM all those who can make towards lamakaan can share rides & brief the gathering about the summary & the decisions taken at the committee meeting. After that we can have a grand lunch at lamakaan :)
Also i would suggest other to share rides & attend the "Hello Drupal" training and make it a success. As it is the first of a kind event in Hyderabad, i hope all who are passionate about Drupal can reach Gachibowli by 'Hook or crook' ;)

I understand passion and stuff, but let's keep in mind the "effect" we see in news channels during bands.
Right from autodriver to any agitator that may catch hold of you is a nuisance in one way or the other.
Now we want everyone back home safe and sound to commit good code isnt it? :)
I suggest put up the phone numbers of organizers and only one member stay at gachibowli at the time.
Wait for 15 minutes for participants and then start off to Lamakaan for the meet.
Almost everyone wants Lamakaan due to the inconvenience.
Do we want people to come to Gachibowli and think guessing about inconveniences they may face going back home/faced while reaching.
Let's try to minimize that.

As we are concerned for you safety, we are taking the risk to reach Lamakaan and even in the given crucial uncertain environment trying to pull of an event when our Drupal god (Dries) is visiting Hyderabad. The risk is negligible for us as we are undeterred from any natural/manmade unforseen situations, because we love Drupal by heart. We have lived it in every moment of our happiness from being the architect of the web. What lies inside us is deep & very complicated
I remember cycling from Musheerabad to Gachibowli for attending Drupal meets during my first days of Drupal experience. Those were the days when i was struggling to get a job & work in my favorite field of Drupal. Nothing came in my way! What i had in my mind was only Drupal. That passion about community, Drupal & the immense satisfaction i got from attending these meets/camps is what i am today.
What is important is the passion & zeal to be undeterred by any factors to achieve a particular goal. And this is just not me. We have nearly 12K Drupal developers in this community who voluntarily support Drupal while facing more serious roadblocks & problems. That passion is what was the reason behind the success of the Drupal project. I have never seen any such kind of project which has 12K developers, 12K modules, 1.2K themes & many other code commits, patches & docs.
Today when we are going to be the future for Drupal community in Hyderabad/Deccan Region/India, we should keep in mind that there will be many circumstances where we need to compromise. Don't let it happen!
Even after so many posts from new people who have just signed before minutes shows the amount of passion they have towards learning Drupal. So don't worry. We are there & we are ready to even come to each & every place someone expresses his interest for Drupal and that is what we have been doing right from the beginning of this Hyderabad group. We have touched 85 colleges in Hyderabad, some colleges in guntury, Vijaywada, Khammam, Visakapatnam, Narsapur, Chittoor, Kadapa, Kaikinada & Karimnagar. And that's just about Andhra pradesh. We have also gone to colleges in Chennai(IIT-Madras, etc.), Bangalore, Bhubaneshwar, Brahmapur and many many other cities. And that's not just once but many a times. This all in just 1 year.
So feel free. Post whatever place, time, day and will reach you to kick off this event and make it a huge success. From Oct 8th we will a string of events as a follow up to Nov 11 event. Suggest your places & based on popularity we will schedule subsequent meets.

Most of the Core committee members (Ipsita, Asif, Asiq, Sandeep, Medhamsh, Sarath, Siddhu, Ratnamala, hari, aruna, tanay) have not yet put their opinion out, the issue will be resolved in the Core committee meeting at Gachibowli. Once we get an opinion from all of these Drupal Hyderabad core members we will be able to see if Lamakaan is on the road map. Please contact all the core committee members before you start taking decisions on the fly & last minute.
Also i have not received your communication(Call or email) till now, so i will sense that your interest is in conflict with the success of this event. Please get in touch as soon as possible to clarify your stand as a valid decision maker & of course reveal your identity to the group.

It will be a gentleman on your part to provide an public apology on this group for vandalizing a event & deviating the event focus in the last hour. If you are a real person & a drupal enthusiast, i would request you all to be present at Lamakaan at 2pm today and put your opinion. You people have no minimum sense how a community planning happens & it takes you just to post some messages to put all of our precious efforts in vain. All those who are supporting for change of the venue, why did it strike to you all when the event starts in less than 8 hours?

The larger vision
We would like to assure to all the participants of this group of the enthusiasm that we have within us. The developers and members who expressed their interest on this group met each other in yesterday's forum at La Makaan which brought about a lot of ideas and actions. Those of us who have shown interest, represent a large community who want to be engaged in Drupal. Our community of engineers have inspiring goals and responsibilities, to take up real world challenges that will help improve the lives of the people around us. And since the platform of groups is to extend support to new members and encourage their passion, we thought this would be a great place to start where we will be encouraged and where information will be shared. We are certain that our voices will be heard by those who understand perseverance and passion. We know that all are aware of open source developer ethics. We are confident that newer members who have expressed dedication will be supported well into joining this initiative and in realizing the larger goal of nurturing passionate engineers.
We would also like to thank the Drupal developers who received us yesterday with great energy and enabled a platform where ideas were shared with ardency.
