Hi,
Checked the drupal forum. There is a mention there that in Drupal 7 (http://drupal.org/node/1284360), we need to change the email address manually in settings.php file. Does anyone how to do that?
Thanks
Jaya

Yeah, Even I tried to do the same with different instances but could not replicate the issue. I tried with 7.8, 7.0 and a distro(7.8) as well but could not replicate the issue and was able to change the email without any trouble.
Whats your drupal minor version(7.*)?
Are you getting any error/warning message while updating?
try updating the instance to latest version.

Thank you for taking time on
Thank you for taking time on this. It does show as changed on the site information page but still the site wide email remains the same. Version I am using is 7.8. BUt still the site wide admin email remains the same as what we had used when setting up drupal. Did you try the contact form for instance after changingg the email id in the site information page? Wikidkaka did have a solution, but had asked for an explanation. Looks like he hasnt had the time. The change has to be made in the settings.php file. Wish I knew how! :(
Thanks again and would greatly appreciate help in this.

sorry If am interrupting D7 discussion.
This issue exists on D6 too. After changing the email under admin/settings/site-information
it dose not update on webform module.
Go to admin/site
Go to admin/site information/webform settings/
and change from address.
thanks a lot for reminding me

I could do it using Mime Mail module
http://drupal.org/project/mimemail
This also needs another module..
http://drupal.org/project/mailsystem
After installing and enabling this module, go to Configurations -> mimemail
( admin/config/system/mimemail)
Hope this helps.
Absolutely cannot change email
I'm using the latest version of Drupal as of this date and on the site information screen the email address used to be correct. Lately it switched to my personal email address and all attempts to change it including those mentioned above have not worked. When I set the correct email, as soon as I click Save Configuration the email immediately jumps back to my personal email account. I'm even using the admin user to do this and that account has the correct site email address as it's email account so it's not coming from there. Any new ideas on this strange behavior? thanks.
