Drupal membership site

Events happening in the community are now at Drupal community events on www.drupal.org.

Hi there everybody. I am all a bit new to this and am at the, what I like to phrase in a technical term, "Tearing my hair out stage 7" phase of building this website.

I have built a site using drupal 6, which was going really well until it didn't. I have been for the last four months trying to figure out how to get a payment processor in place so that we can process credit card orders for this membership site. So we are only selling one thing, a membership.

So I have tried a gazillion different ideas which to date have all been amazing fails.

We have a BNZ merchant account, which is great, there is ubercart and premium membership and a great many things that are really quite nifty really.

What we dont have is the bit when you press the button that says that you can buy a membership and access all the good stuff. Well that is not entirely true, we do have said button, it just does not work. Hence the hair pulling out part.

I have loaded a hundred million (or it seems that way) modules, authorise.net and so on and so forth in order to try and find something that would work.

My question is;

Does anyone know of a way that is easily implemented that I can run on drupal 6 that will allow me to sell the memberships?

Any help or advise would be so very much appreciated because I am about to get to the "sledgehammer through the screen and then smashing it into tiny little pieces and pouring lighter fluid on it and burning it then getting all the ashes and sending them into the pit of no return" phase, which would be a shame because it really is a nice screen and it is not the screens fault.

:)

And then you might get really desperate.

I may be barking up wrong tree but not clear from the above but which Payment Processor are you using to pass the info from Ubercart to BNZ. You mention authorise.net but didn't sound like you were using it as your Payment Processor.

In NZ we often use DPS - of course PayPal is another widely used option.

Hey Pete, thanks for the

Hey Pete, thanks for the answer.

You are not as you say barking up the wrong tree. I have DPS loaded, but can not make head nor tail of how it works. I got confused about the post pay and the other one.

There was a BNZ module that I had loaded that tests fine, but ubercart does not recognise it and says that the payment has not been processed.

I found that DPS was very confusing, my knowledge is limited though expanding quite some through this process.

So what you are saying is that DPS will work with the BNZ and ubercart and do what I am asking?

If this is the case and it has been done then I will investigate this further.

Paypal is not an option.

What I think I am saying is

What I think I am saying is that it sounds like the missing part is the Payment Processor. Eg when we set up a membership system (usually using civicrm and drupal) then we have to configure a Payment Processor which is what CiviCRM or Ubercart pass the transaction information to.
For that to work DPS need to have set up an account that ties in to your bank merchant account. So this isn't 'out of the box' stuff. DPS and the bank need to talk to each other. Once DPS is okay then provide details that you enter in to the DPS Payment Processor - and then the payments should be accepted.
of course DPS provide test details you can use as well.

Hey well that sounds great,

Hey well that sounds great, because I believe I have those things already but now just need to get them to all work together, are you able to point me in the direction of some resourse that could help me work that out, or are you in a position where you may be able to gain our employment in order to get our system up and running?

Thanks,

Andrew.

Secure Paytech is another option

You can use the Secure Paytech payment gateway (http://www.securepaytech.com/), as there is a specific Ubercart interface module for this (http://drupal.org/project/uc_securepaytech). Having installed and configured the module, you will need to set up an account with Secure Paytech, and then enter the details into the payment gateway.

It is essentially the same as DPS, but with a slightly better fee structure for low transaction volumes.

Another alternative is the Australian Paymate service (which also has an Ubercart payment module). This service is closer to the Paypal model than the DPS/Secure Paytech options.

I note that there is an Ubercart payment module for payment to BNZ Merchant accounts, but as it requires that you install a BNZ provided application along with the UC payment module, it may not integrate very well into Drupal.

James

Just worked out how to log in again :)

Hey thanks very much for all of your input!

I have managed to get this working now. It is done through byline (sub of BNZ) and an API available from here. No third party processor needed which is great.

I kind of figure I should post up a step by step to help others get this working if they wanted to use it, where would you suggest I put that?

Thanks again,

Andrew.

Also need to connect to BZN with ubercart

Andrew,

we also need to setup an Ubercart installation for a client that has a BNZ account.

A step-by-step how you went about it would be awesome.

I have succesfully implemented Ubercart with SecurePay and Paystation modules, but DPS look slightly more complex.

Could you at least tell me wich components you used to get it working?

Cheers,

Matt

Hey mourits

We have managed to get the module working with NZD without DPS. I found DPS to be unsatisfactory.

The good thing is that you do not need a third party to process with BNZ.

I am just working on getting it going with USD at the moment.

Send me a PM or your e-mail and I will send what I have through. I will in time post something so people can use it, but am lacking the time to get it together right now.

First off you need to install the bnz stuff on your server, but as I say if you send something through about where you are at I can help out as much as possible!
