Don't export access rules??

I'm not sure if this is the right place to ask this so if its not I am sorry but hopefully there is an easy enough answer..

I am trying to create a "feature" and part of the export is a panels page created through page manager.. I would like to export this through "features" without any "access" or "selection" criteria and have the site manager on the site that wants to run the "feature" determine the assess criteria for themselves based on their own roles and permission structure.. There are two issues I can't seem to solve..

  1. How to I exclude the access settings from being exported?

  2. When the access criteria settings are set on the site that is running the feature how do I make it so a) the feature doesn't show as "overridden" and b)updates to the feature won't override the sites custom "access" settings?

Hope that makes sense.. :)

I haven't seen any tools that allows doing this. I know there are some extra modules for Features that makes it easier to override certain parts of settings, but I haven't tried them out. I'd look into the Features realm rather than the CTools realm, though.

And, sorry to say, I'm not sure that this issue can be solved in an easy way.

Thanks.. I couldn't find a

Thanks.. I couldn't find a "features" group and the access rules I was trying to work through were in page manager so thought it was worth a shot..

As it happens your "Learn Views with NodeOne, part 21" helped.. I was able to create the menu tabs I wanted directly from views meaning I no longer needed page manager to do it.. Makes it a lot less complicated for what I am trying to do.. :)
