There are a couple of module that help translate content (eg http://drupal.org/project/translation_overview and http://drupal.org/project/translation_table) but they are either based on i18n or specifically nodes. We're currently making a webshop and for this we're going to use only field translation for the first time and we also need a translation overview.
So before I start a field_translation_overview module I wanted to ask if there are any such efforts already going on?

Entity, not field
I have been looking for a similar module, but I could not find anything. Still, I think the "entity_translation_overview" would be a better name for your plan.

Module maintainers?
You might want to check with the module maintainers for those two modules to see if they were planning on adding the functionality that you need or if you can patch their module to include what you want. Note also there is a new translation management project happening at:
http://drupal.org/project/tmgmt
I haven't tried it yet but maybe it has the features you need.
