Following the huge success of the first Ignite Cardiff (and in fact the first Ignite to be held in the UK) we're really excited to be announcing Ignite Cardiff #2!

Once again we've come together with Nocci and we're hoping that Ignite 2 will be even bigger and better than the first.

Thanks to those wonderful people at Lonely Planet, we're going to be offering some free drinks, free nibbles and hopefully some gorgeous Lonely Planet books. We're going to be at Sodabar again and we're also in the process of negotiating discounted drinks prices for the night, just for Ignite attendees.

The Format
Ignite is a style of presentation where participants are given five minutes to speak on a subject accompanied by 20 slides. Each slide is displayed for 15 seconds, and slides are automatically advanced.

The first Ignite was held in 2006 in Seattle, since then Ignite events have been held around the world and there are thriving Ignite communities in Seattle, Portland, Paris, NYC and cardiff to name a few!

The Ignite Community is sponsored by O'Reilly.

Come Along, it's FREE!
Even if you don't want to give a talk, please come and join us for a networking event with a difference. It promises to be a really fun night and we've had a lot of interest so we recommend that you get there early. Entry is FREE and doors will open at 6pm on Wednesday 8 April, sign up on our events page or you can sign up to the event on FaceBook. We look forward to seeing you there!

We're really pleased to announce the speakers for the next Ignite Cardiff. They are:

Matthew Cashmore (Lonely Planet) - (title to be confirmed)
Tom Beardshaw (www.tombeardshaw.com/) - Lifestreaming
Pete Prior (http://nermal.org/) - CATaLOG
Suzi Wells - Infinity
DK (MediaSnakers) - Change
Denis Campbell (UK Progressive) - When School Ties and Party Organisations are not Enough to Win
Tim Millwood (http://millwoodonline.co.uk) - Drupal
Mike Ellis (http://variousbits.net/) - Everyware
Mark Stevenson (www.lifeinpixels.co.uk/) - Cardiff Twitter trends
Lloyd Morgan (http://LoneGunman.co.uk) - Vines and Minds
Rob May - How to survive the zombie apocalypse

Sadly Inspire will not be speaking at Ignite Cardiff #2, but they've asked that we reserve a slot for them at Ignite Cardiff #3!

We look forward to seeing you all at SodaBar on April 8th!
