Hey Egyptian Drupallers,
According to the discussion here, http://groups.drupal.org/node/211043#comment-706473 ... I guess it may be a good time to do something for our lovely couple of common communities (the Egyptian community and the Drupal community :D).
we currently have 67 members in the group, does anyone have any potential to do anything :D --I'm not exaggerating, any ideas are welcome and any contribution we can do towards our community is considered a step on the road :D --ya3ni, heya el Hend mesh a7san mena fe ay 7aga :D (except that we don't write Indian code :D)
any ideas, or is anyone aware of any drupal community in Egypt we can join ??
p.s: please please please, aboos edeeko :D :P, don't post company links, portfolios, sponsorship proposals, we-are-drupal-egypt wars.... in this discussion, leave it for ONLY community posts as INDIVIDUAL community members ;)

Actually, as I can see, the whole group is inactive. This isn't related to group admin unless you have another point of view.

@rami.sedhom, It's my feeling that regional groups work better with 2 or three active organizers; when people know who's "in charge" they may be more likely to participate.
(We have a few groups here where someone created the group then does nothing, which doesn't help build communities.)
And I shouldn't have singled out one person in my original comment, so I apologize for that.
2 ideas
1. Training
I'm willing to give a free training sessions about Drupal, assuming someone will handle the logistics (place, data show, event organizer, ...).
2. Arabization
Drupal needs a strong community which focus on Arabization and RTLing good themes. If some people is really enthusiastic about doing this in a team work spirit, I'll be willing to join and contribute my small part in that team.

plus one for the ideas :)... we just need to get the community a bit more stronger (a little stronger than 2 enthusiasts :D)... I like the Training idea very much, I can help with that too. and I also like RTL'ing selected themes ;).. all what we need is to gather some enthusiasts and just start :D

I second rami.sedhom, I guess we should wait for the community to re-formulate, then they can agree on whoever they want to be their organizer :) we should give highest priority to getting things running :)
please ppl, I'm pretty sure that everyone who has bothered to exist on g.d.o and joined Egypt Group is already a drupal enthusiast :D come on and let's do something (maybe it shouldn't be too big, but it will always be better than nothing at all :D)
Training
Training is an excellent idea.
I think communities need both free training (by the community, for the community) and commercial/enterprise training (to make a statement towards small business owners and larger organizations that Drupal is a viable, mature, stable and business-ready platform).
I've organized a bunch of community trainings and DrupalCamps in the past (and co-organized DrupalCon Paris), as well as some commercial trainings as Acquia Training Partner. I'd be happy to help out either way.

I agree with the training
I agree with the training ideas, Maybe we can start with colleges or students as our traget market, We can plan for a campaign with multipul training sessions in different universities in Egypt to enrich people skills and spread drupal to the Computer Science and Information System students, Which I think is a good place to start marketing Drupal and Building the community. What do you think?

So... I do also agree with Training (although I would recommend meeting each other in a User Group Meeting first and then coordinate a training session)

@FooZee I know the democratic sense in us says that we wait till the community is activated then we post and suggest a new group organizer :) I really do hear you, but also we need an active organizer to get people GOING, ya man :)
so it's two ways step, just apply for the manager :) please. (i also recommend that you will need other two for example as organizers (and i would recommend the first generation :D

Listen, I'm based in Sharm now, but I studied in Cairo University and I know places that are ready (and some I can coordinate for a small fee or even free) either to MEET (which i think is important to start working towards "Enriching The Community" or to TRAIN (which I think of equal importance)
So, let's get back to communicating, shall we?
