Can't make IRC planning session today...
...but wanted to let you know I'm still happy to talk about DrupalCon at the next gathering if you need extra folks to present. So write me into the schedule if you need me and we can touch base later about the specifics.
title?
No problem. Do you have a short title that we could put on the agenda for you?
Jason
title?
Hmm, not sure. I primarily attended developer track talks so actually missed a lot of the stuff related to the main conference theme (responsive design, etc.). So I have a rather random assortment of things to share. Who else will be talking and should we get in touch to make sure we don't overlap too much?
IRC chat log from April 9th planning meeting
<shibby> Hello TriDug peeps!<-- cdmorris has quit (Quit: cdmorris)
<-- barbbar (~barbbar@cpe-069-134-064-034.nc.res.rr.com) has left #drupal-nc
<paulthed> Hello Jason
--> barbbar (~barbbar@cpe-069-134-064-034.nc.res.rr.com) has joined #drupal-nc
<shibby> paulthed: how are things?
<SteveCory> Hello Jason . . . shibby is jhibbets@nat/redhat * Jason Hibbets
<paulthed> I can't complain. How was Denver?
<shibby> Denver was great. It was nice to get some altitude training in for my upcoming race ;)
--> timswezy (~timswezy@cpe-066-057-082-059.nc.res.rr.com) has joined #drupal-nc
<paulthed> nice, I want to go to Portland next year
<shibby> hi SteveCory barbbar and timswezy
<shibby> me too paulthed
<barbbar> Greetings!
<timswezy> Hi shibby
<shibby> multi-tasking! barbbar
<barbbar> yeah..... a curse it is!!
<shibby> timswezy: sorry I missed you when you came by the office, I think it i was at POSSCON
<shibby> conferences back to back, I was toast!
<shibby> this might be a very short meeting, I've already had two folks sign-up to present next week at our TriDUG meeting--reporting on DrupalCon Denver
<timswezy> shibby: NP, was about to say the same thing! you guys have a great office! It was also nice to see Caroline again, since we used to work together
<shibby> did anyone else go to Denver that would like to present at our next meetup?
<timswezy> crickets
<shibby> let me switch it up...is there anything you folks would like to hear about?
<SteveCory> toads
<paulthed> shibby: did you attend the Boston initiative session?
<timswezy> I'm most interested if anyone went to the design/UX stuff; the rumblings I've seen suggest that some cool stuff is afoot
<paulthed> was curious to hear about that
<shibby> paulthed: I didn't go to anything technical :( wasn't even aware of that one
--> siwinski (siwinski@nat/redhat/x-hxcuxuzwvmqzifbp) has joined #drupal-nc
<shibby> timswezy: I say a few things with more interactive drag and drop stuff that was pretty neat, but couldn't give you any real details
<shibby> say=saw
<SteveCory> Would like to discuss some triDUG/UNCDUG business
<barbbar> Steve - great idea.
<SteveCory> It has to do with g.d.o.
<timswezy> shibby: yeah, the rumblings I've noticed are largely to do w/Drupal 8
<shibby> SteveCory: at the meeting or here?
<SteveCory> Either would be fine, it's a very simple topic
<shibby> SteveCory: I've got the agenda already for next week, so go for it
<SteveCory> Robert K, the guy that is bringing the UNCDUG group back to life, tried to create a g.d.o. group
<dmp1ce> I don't know about anyone else, but I would like to hear more about Symfony with Drupal 8.
<SteveCory> His request was rejected due to location
<shibby> dmp1ce: I think everyone at DrupalCon was curious about that ")
<SteveCory> He was told since triDUG defines themselves as Raleigh/Durham/ChapelHill he should become part of triDUG
<dmp1ce> shibby: I was pretty surprised to hear about it.
<shibby> SteveCory: interesting. Do we have the ability to make sub-groups within our g.d page/group?
<SteveCory> Can triDUG handle another coordinator or can theyjust say they are Raleigh/Durham?
* SteveCory shrugs
<shibby> SteveCory: maybe it would be best to discuss at the meetup
<shibby> but it's good to have that background
<barbbar> We were also talking about a lunch meetup in Raleigh after the 17th.
<barbbar> Kyle volunteered a topic
<barbbar> Or I could talk some about Drupal Gardens.
<barbbar> Location would be west raleigh near the fairgrounds.
<barbbar> Kyle's topic: M/W/XAMPP solutions
<shibby> sounds good to me (I was waiting for others to chime in)
<paulthed> Barb which day do you think it will be?
<SteveCory> Can Raleigh or Durham lunch meetups be streamed or cammed?
<barbbar> Day: open to suggestions. Any weekdays seem better than others? Mondays I tend to avoid for meetings.
<barbbar> Streaming - I've been playing with Ustream some - it works remarkably well for free. We could try that.
<paulthed> Friday's are normally good for lunch meetups, but I'm flexible
<shibby> what about Google+ ??
<barbbar> Friday, 4/27?
<paulthed> sounds good to me, but can see what works for others
<barbbar> I haven't played with Google + for streaming - anyone else?
<shibby> i haven't either, but it hear it works great...but has a limits
<barbbar> Ah - looks like you use a "hangout."
<shibby> oh, yes, that's what I meant
<paulthed> I've watched some webcasts on UStream, but haven't used Google+ hangouts
<SteveCory> It might be good for reference too
<SteveCory> jus a sug jess
<barbbar> Yes - it would be great to start creating an archive.
<paulthed> +1
<barbbar> I'll check with Kyle and see if 4/27 works for him and we'll get the meeting scheduled.
<shibby> ok, thanks for joining today everyone
<barbbar> And explore streaming/capturing options. Great idea!
<shibby> I know everyone is busy, so I'll update the agenda and we'll see you next week
<barbbar> thanks!
<shibby> I'll order some pizza too!
<paulthed> thanks Jason
