Plan for the Day
Hi Everyone,
Please Bring your laptops as there will be Training and it'll be lot of fun
9:45 - 10:15 - Drupalistas settle in, chit chat
10:15 - 10:30 - Quick blurb about the agenda of the day etc
10:30 - 11:15 - Jacob ( training talk on the lines of - http://denver2012.drupal.org/program/sessions/building-internal-training... ) I feel this will be a great talk both for all skill groups, as it will allow beginners to optimize their own learnings and will allow managers/team leads to plan their trainings. Since, Jacob is an expert on training among many other things and deals with it day in day out, it would be a waste if we dont pick his brain about this.
11:15 - 12:00 - Piyuesh Kumar ( Migration talk - https://github.com/qed42/rdm-rails and https://github.com/qed42/rdm-drupal ) This will be a re run of Piyuesh's talk from Drupalcamp mumbai, where it was well received. I think its a simple but powerful demo (with concepts) on how convenient it is to migrate to drupal if we use the right tools. So if you use other frameworks, you'll get some idea on what it takes to convert to Drupal. I went through the list of attendees who r gonna attend, I think there is very minute overlap and lot of people will be seeing this for the first time. This is one planned talk, where subject matter can change tomorrow after guaging interest from people.
Other Idea we are exploring in this slot is to talk on Drupal Productivity, tools in the ecosystem. Drush Usage and building your own drush commands.
12:00 - 12:45 - Prasad - Responsive Design with Drupal ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Responsive_Web_Design ) - Prasad with update Synopsis in a follow up comment.
12:45 - 1:30 - Break for lunch
1:30 - 4:30 - Training by Jacob Singh - Please bring your laptops.
4:30 - 5:30 - QnA, 5-10 min talks if someone wishes to promote their module/themes, or talk about specific stuff.
Feedback welcome, like I said before it was supposed to be open ended meeting and we plan to keep it informal and encourage lot of drupal/open source chit chat.
