SD DUG meeting agenda/format/location

Events happening in the community are now at Drupal community events on www.drupal.org.

Some things we talked about adding:

  • lightning talks
  • site dissection
  • informal 'after-meeting'
  • Announcements

Also we talked about possible future locations being Art Institute, Balboa Park, or Green Bird Media (living room?).

I think all of these are great ideas, also I would like to add based on I think what Matt was saying, that we can dedicate a portion of the meeting to split up into 2 or 3 groups. I would suggest these groups be decided on the meeting of. For example one week it could be advanced/basic, another meeting it could be themeing/coding. Also if we do decide to start building a SD DUG website, we could use this time to split into brainstorming groups or whatever else we find useful. The group is definitely growing, and this could be a good way to keep it productive and engaging, while continuing to grow.

I checked out the Hall Of Champions

I checked out the Balboa Park Hall Of Champions, and it looks perfect. I've set up our next meeting for June there, but you should know that the DUG organizers are still emailing each other in regards to the Art Institute's facilities which had been pursued for months and only recently became available last week.

I'll keep you posted as to when we can set up a tour of the Hall Of Champions as well as the Art Institute, and we'll go check them out with an eye towards the next SANDcamp as well.
