Ægir plattform predefined custom Drupal 6.12 templates

Hi!

Because of the great documentation in the Ægir hosting system, I was able to get my own running copy of Ægir 0.2rc1! I love the power and the easy to use interface. Thank you so much for making this. You guys are geniuses!

My goal is to create a community site using Ægir Signup Form, that lets all my users communicate together and let them deign thei own homepages.
Is it possible to create a template of af a drupal 6.12 plattform? I wold like to change the layout, set predefined active modules, define user access and make an easy to use/understand admin UI.

I get "VirtualHost :80 -- mixing * ports and non- ports with a NameVirtualHost address is not supported" every time I restart Apache. When aegir user restarts Apache, the server stops and fail. I use wildcard DNS at my hosting company namecheap.com

Make an install profile

Hi nordviks -- you can make an install profile or multiple install profiles which do various setup bits out of the box. I'm working on some D6 / D7 stuff over at Drupal out of the box that might interest you.

I can't figure this out...

I found the database for my Drupal 6.12 platform and the the table "system" that let me turn on modules by default, but when I edited the v.host file to use my 6.12 platform as document root, It showed the installation screen. If the Ægir hostmaster install controls the database installation, how can I make a custom Drupal 6.12 template?

Please help!

This solved the template part of my Ægir installation. I think I will try out http://drupal.org/project/patterns the 6.x-dev release is stable, I'm told. It just seams to much work to create manual installation profiles!

Do you know the answer to these questions:

  • Can I auto create an admin user which is disabled by default (user can turn it on) and control what permissions new users have, signing up through the Ægir Signup Form?
  • The last issue I have on my Ægir setup is; How do I let each site owner communicate with each other in a twitter like manner?
