hello
Hi everyone,
Im a freelance programmer living in Koenji. In the past when i want to build a website, i've started by searching for php classes and scripts from the net and changing them to do what i need them to do.
My goal in learning drupal is to have a base platform to start with that has good code structure.
I'm most interested in learning how to build modules and do things from the code perspective. I much prefer working in an IDE than trying to remember where things are located in the admin interface. Its taking a long time to find my feet with drupal.
Love to meet up and talk to people who know whats going on. I've read a couple of drupal books (the o'reilly one and 'Pro drupal development') and watched countless hours of screencasts but still haven't had that "OH!! now i get it!" moment where all the pieces click.
(my spoken Japanese is fine, but i can't read past the flavor of my ice cream)
Look forward to meeting you.
Hi ussher, welcome! I

Hi Paul, thanks. Look forward
Hi Paul, thanks.
Look forward to seeing you around.
Ive been watching the #drupal-jp and #drupal-jp-support IRC channels for a while now and there never seems to be any activity in them. is there a more active drupal japan channel hidden somewhere?
drupal.jp is the only drupal
drupal.jp is the only drupal technology site that I know in Japan.
I try to search some drupal tech sites on search.yahoo.jp, I found http://drupal-jp.sourceforge.jp/main/
It looks more activity.
BTW, I feel yahoo is more powerful than Google in Japanese language.
Paul
Welcome Y'all !
Welcome Y'all !
At the Drupal Japan Group there is a list of Drupal sites in Japan. There are probably many more. It is also possible depending on how the members feel, there is much support there too. The Drupal Japan Group is bilingual as well so feel free to post there too.
The Drupal Japan Tokyo group (this group) is dedicated to organizing casual get together from Drupalers in the Tokyo vicinity. Feel free to join us on our get togethers.
Best regards,
Scott

Nice to meet all of you!
I'm Rémi. I arrived in Japan 6 weeks ago and moved in Saitama with my Japanese girlfriend this week. Since version 4.6, I've been using Drupal to create Web sites. I like PHP 5, CSS 3, jQuery, and HTML 5. I can speak French and English. Although I do posses a level 3 certificate of the Japanese Language Proficiency Test, my Japanese is still not good. Now, I'm currently looking for a job. If you're interested, you can read a blog about my life in Japan on my new site "Edojin."
Until next time!
Rémi
