Se ha suspendido el DrupalCon Sao Paulo. Muchas personas (entre ellas yo) ya teníamos los pasajes comprados. De manera que conversando con Jorge ( http://drupal.org/user/671702 ) estamos pensando organizar de todas maneras un evento para estas fechas en Sao Paulo ¿qué opinan? ¿quién se apunta?

This is a link for the "Call for Papers". We have not completed the event website yet.
The "Drupalcamp Rio #2" will be together with PHP'n Rio, which is the "Carioca" community event for PHP. It will be a great opportunity to bring new Drupal developers for our community.
It will be great to have the entire Latino community in this event :)

Anyway I think after SP DCon that we should try do something smaller even. Well I do not know almost nobody in SP yet so just let me know maybe some small meetup or whatever. I live in exactly Centre of SP close to Anhangabaú so everywhere close :).

Will just try to get a refund.
I´ve already buy a ticket to the Drupalcon, even if I don´t like Sao Paulo the slightest (There are sooo many other Brazilian cities that are far more safer, nicer, cleaner and touristicly more interesting than Sao Paulo).
So as the event get cancelled I will try to get a refund if I can.
I think that the issues that prevented the event to be held, should have been addressed before the official announcement, but that´s just my opinion.
Anyway, I know that there´s a lot of time and effort put into this, and I do pity the organizers, that are probably very crossed about this too, surely more than I am.
Anyway, I rather loose part of the money invested in the plane tickets, than spend even more money into a hotel reservation in a city that I don´t even like. I´m sorry to be a little harsh about this, but I just got the news and I feel very bad about it.
I don´t know you, but I didn´t even received an email (I´ve subscribed to the newsletter at saopaulo2012.drupal.org) telling me this. I just got that information in my feed reader, reading this very post.
Anyways, I hope there will be a DrupalCon in South America some day.

Possible flight costs refund from the DA
Just cross linking but it appears that the DA may be open to the idea of providing refunds for those who bought flights.
I was close to buying flights last month from here in Chile but the lack on news scared me a little, glad I held off.
Just came back from holidays to this sad news. I won't be coming to Sao Paulo, but wish everyone luck organising some sort of meetup in place of the Con.
Here's looking forward to the first DrupalCon in South America.
