Rules Monkey: Update #8, the end!
This is the eighth and last update of the Rules Monkey Summer of Code project. Summer of Code is over, time to do a summary:
- I worked on 13 issues in the Rules issue queue and on 2 in the Workflow issue queue.
- I created a new submodule of Rules: Rules forms support.
- I wrote 4 tutorials for Rules and restructured the documentation on drupal.org.
- I had very much personal contact with my mentor fago, who helped me a lot and gave good support. Thanks!
- Fago gave me CVS write access to Rules and nominated me as maintainer of the newly created Rules Forms support module. Thanks again!
- I picked up some support requests in the Rules issue queue and tried to help out where I could.
- I really struggled with PHP and CVS sometimes, which was a little bit frustrating but never compromised my fun in coding for Drupal (well yeah, sometimes I dreamt of Python and GIT).
Final progress I made last week:
- Patches for Rules form support got in: disabling elements and setting a default value
- I improved the pending patch for the Features integration of Rules.
- I wrote a quite big tutorial how to use Rules for an editorial workflow (yes, this aims to replace the workflow module ;-)
- I worked on two bugs concerning condition and action label callbacks in Rules.
Thanks Google, thanks Drupal and thanks Fago for this great opportunity! See you in the issue queues!
