Drupal 8 Accessibility Evaluation Priorities

This wiki page is intended to compile a list of the priority pages or components of Drupal 8 that most need a formal accessibility evaluation before the release of Drupal 8. Edit this wiki page to add to the list. Add comments if you have different suggestions for how we compile an RFP, seek bids, and raise funds to have this evaluation completed.

High Priority

  • Create and edit existing Content
  • Sign up for new user account
  • Create/modify/delete user as admin
  • Add a blog and/or forum
  • Create comments
  • Create and Edit user profile (from the administrator UI and the user registration form)
  • Add Content into a Menu
  • Add, edit and reorder Menu Items
  • Create and edit a menu
  • Add a comment to a node
  • Create, Edit and assign a block to a region
  • Create and Edit a taxonomy vocabulary
  • Create and Edit a taxonomy term
  • Assign taxonomy terms to nodes through term reference fields (using the various widgets)
  • Add links or formatting into content while editing (if a WYSIWYG editor is in core)
  • Add language tags and headings into content while editing (if a WYSIWYG editor is in core)
  • Create, edit and add to a menu a complex view (if views is in core)
  • Install, uninstall, enable, disable modules

Medium Priority

  • Ensure that markup conforms to W3C Standards
  • Ensure that CSS conforms to W3C Standards
  • Ensure that ARIA roles are used properly
  • Ensure that headings hierarchy conforms to WCAG 2.0 AA recommendations

Low Priority

The Contributor task pages are used often as part of Core Office Hours and are helpful in general.
Please edit the Contributor task doc page to add in information about what software someone needs to install in order to do an accessibility review, or to make any other changes you see that that document needs.
