movies hosted on Drupal.org

Events happening in the community are now at Drupal community events on www.drupal.org.

The kind maintainers of Drupal.org have agreed to put our movies on the drupal.org hardware which will reduce our distribution problems and make it easier for folks to get the movies.

They just need to actually get the moves!

I have lessons "3" and "4" and the CVS lesson.

So it seems that just 1 and 2 are currently not available (at least not on the links that I tried). If someone points me to good links we'll sort this all out and have them in one place.

Thanks!

Posted to the to-do wiki. I also know that there was some desire to cut 4 into 3 lessons, one on panels, one on cck, and one on views for ease of documentation.

Has anyone made any progress towards that? Are we still doing it?

Thanks greggles!

mpare has been tasked with those movies. I'm taking 1, 2, and 5.

Where will these vids be posted?

plastictabs's picture

I'm trying to catch up... where are these lessons stored/going to be stored?

currently they are all over

currently they are all over - they are going to be stored on the drupal.org servers but that may take a week or two.

if you check these threads for links you will find most of them. then just ask in irc and you should find someone who has the rest.

Editing the videos?

kreynen's picture

I was planning on using the dojo videos to help explain the more advanced Drupal concepts to graduate students here at the Reynolds School of Journalism, but when I watched the lesson 4 I found they needed a little editing before I'd ask anyone to sit through them. I've already tasked one of my undergrad RTV majors to edit the VPN issues out of lesson 4, but I'd be willing to offer up their time to do post production cleanup on the videos whenever it would be helpful.

great!

Kevin - that would be awesome!

I've got them all right now, though not necessarily in "raw" formats. I have lesson 1 (basics) and 5 (cvs) in camrec format and can export to whatever you want. I think I can get the same for the other lessons.

One point is that any editing that is done will need to be at a level and in a format that can be produced on an ongoing basis. So far we're sticking to H.264 movs for most of the output and as long as that is kept and also the [http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/2.5/ CC-BY-SA] then this sounds like a great collaboration.

You can click on my username to contact me and get the downloads of the files.

I have copies of 1 and 2

AFAIK, lesson one was only available as a collection of flash files. I have a copy of it and two copies of lesson 2 (one at 243 MB and one at 66 MB). If no one else turns up with the files, I can send them somewhere, or put them somewhere that they can be downloaded from.

got them - thanks
