Yesterday I posted a feature request for better macro handling for GMap Views. I wanted to create a discussion here as well so that I could get a sense for what other people's use cases and needs are for this type of change.
In short, what I need is a way to pass macros to the GMap view on a per Organic Group basis. This was easy to do with argument handling code in D5 and Views, but no longer works in D6 and Views2.
Aside from Organic Groups, I could see other places where being able to supply a custom macro based on an argument value could be really helpful.

Open Green Map is running a hacked version of GMap for D6 (details on the feature request), ghostbikes.org is running D5.
I am trying to get to the best long term solution that meets more than my limited needs for these two sites. I would like to hear if other people have similar needs for their GMap views, and ideas on a solution that would work for them.

I've got the same need but a much lower understanding of views, macros, and Gmap. Basically, I'd like to see GMaps and Organic Groups work together to allow group-specific maps of users. You've accomplished this using macros. In the 9 mos since you posted, has there been anything incorporated into GMap or OG or Views to further this solution?
