Is there a plan to integrate front-end 3rd party frameworks like Foundation and Bootstrap?

I'm new to this group and I'm wondering whether there are plans to integrate front-end frameworks like Zurb Foundation, Twitter Bootstrap, etc. into Drupal. Will framework integration be left at the theme level, or will there be a tighter integration with Core and add-on modules?

There are many benefits, many challenges

There have been a number of related discussions around this. I think the feeling is that the community appreciates the benefits, but there are licensing challenges at the very least. Drupal uses the GPL v2, which is not always compatible with other open source licenses, including Bootstrap’s. See [#1801582]

However, the Twig work is hoping to build at least the foundation [no pun intended :) ] for something of our own. See [#1804488].
