Our March meetup is this upcoming Wednesday, March 27th from 7-9PM. At the February meetup, there was consensus that it would be great to add "lightning talks" as a regular feature to the monthly meetup. We like the idea so much that we're going to start this month and make Lightning Talks the main agenda for the March meetup.
What's a lightning talk? Well, the only real rule is a lightning talk needs to be short, 5-minutes max. Anyone can volunteer to talk. Your talk can be about anything and doesn't need to be a formal presentation:
- ask a question about something that's puzzling you
- show us a site you're working on
- show us a site you like
- show us how to configure a module you like
- tell a joke… whatever!
There'll be a projector if you want one and a group of curious Drupalers ready to listen and discuss. If you have something you'd like to lightning on -- or would like someone else to tackle -- leave a comment to get the juices flowing.
Otherwise, the meetup will be business as usual -- networking, socializing, beverage drinking (and sharing) and pizza.
And, don't worry, we are not foregoing the idea of having presentations at meetups. This month we'll feature lightning talks as the main dish, at future meet ups we'll have lightning talks as a side-dish to the usual featured presentation. So, have your suggestions (or proposals) for upcoming presentations ready.
